Much has been made of the Rosie/Elisabeth argument, so here's my $.02.

I saw clips, but not the whole thing -- so it makes me just as qualified to speak on it as anybody at Fox News -- but I'll come at it from a different angle.
When did reality-show contestants become the route for celebrity, especially ones that lost? It must've started when Charles van Doren "won" on 21 back in the '50s. And we all know how that turned out.
Say what you will about American Idol -- which I could care less about -- but at least most of the non-winners actually go on to sing. (Or, like former athletes, they're brought on to provide post-game commentary.)
