no-show yoga instructors.

Mar 25, 2013 15:01

So I got up early today; I had a reason to get up. (I have often found myself listless lately and will wake and then lay in bed for a while one days that I don't have any solid plans).

I got right up, put one of my cute yoga tank top, some leggings, did the Quinn stuffs...a and headed off to the gym for a morning hot yoga class. Super great parking spot, happily wondered my way to the locker room to drop off my coat, and headed to the yoga studio.

I have a black and a pink one! (and no, that's not me, it's the image shot on amazon).

and I'm all thinking to myself "woo! I am early, going to get a great spot and one of the good yoga matts! fuck yeah!"

...... and the yoga studio of still locked and a few women are sitting outside it on the lovely benches.

So we sit for a bit. Some awkward conversations occur which morph into a comfortable banter back and forth about yoga, pilattes (going on in the next room) and other fitness classes at the gym during which one of the women takes over as the overly-chatty extrovert. A few ladies conclude pilattes machines look like terrifying bdsm equipment. I lol to myself. It's all going alright.

...... and 9:30 rolls around. Still no instructor, still a locked room. About 20 people are now sitting around outside buidling a wierd communal repore. Ever the switch, I'm alternating between offering up information freely and being introverted on any given minute. (way to early too force myself to stick with one) My germ-phobic is begining to kick in as my bare feet rest on the carpet outside the yoga studio, although I've settled comfortably into the bench and pillows.

Another instructor comes over and unlocks the door, but does not turn up the heat. We all rush in and settle around the room on yoga matts.

To wrap up what is becoming a long story about a relatively short event... We all sat around until the director of fitness classes came by (he runs a Zumba class at the same time as this hot yoga shit goes down) and he's just like "yep, no idea what's going on/sorry. The instructor hasn't called in or anything". Several ladies leave to go do the zumba class. The majority were fairly irritated at this point, and two or three are stating they'll never attend a morning yoga class again (which seemed a bit reactionary to me).

So I and one other annoyed lady stay on the yoga studio to just do some yoga on our own. I have never done a yoga workout without direction, but I tried to do some stuff we've done in classes in a completely random order. As far as workout goes, it wasn't too bad. But I left feeling sad and like I had really not gotten my day off on the path I wanted to.

So ugh! lame.

Came home, showered. Didn't style my hair at all so it's all over everywhich way. Stopped by my parent's house to change the dressing on my dad's latest surgery site (one the crown of his head, looks alright)

aaand, now I'm home. Watching a zombie movie marathon on Sci Fi.

BUT! Good News!

I got a call while at my parent's house and the phone interview I had on Friday must have been alright (I worried I talked too much!) since I have a second in-person interview! Yay potential employment with benefits and good pay! :)
