Logic vs. Dreams

Sep 13, 2005 16:10

Reality v. fantasy, possibility v. potential...or to be put in a different perspective: veggies v. dessert. Logic isn't always fun, it's normally frustrating, infuriating, confusing, and commonly a wet blanket; on the other hand, Dreams are normally enjoyed, usually accepted in a wide array of social groups. Logic is the basis of which the very fabric of knowledge is built, and Dreams the very force that builds from Logic. I enjoy Logic and usually live by it, which accounts for my anti-social, cold front; as much as I claim to be a dreamer, in truth I'm a logistic. I'm the person that sits in chatrooms and constantly points out how "that's just not possible!", but damned if my Dreams [which commonly seem to be as powerful as my Logic] always gives reason to not bother the fantasies of others. I am always in conflict w/ myself, for my dreams and logic are equal. I dream of using logic, and find it logical to dream.

In any case:

It's impossible to live off either Logic or Dreams separately, for they are like the Yin & Yang, and must always be used in unison. I guess I'm more a logical dreamer...chaotic order...the most powerful force is when 2 opposites combine as one. Since I went off on a tangent a number of times, I'll just end this journal as is. =P
