The Blue Objector strikes again!

The nightly news, to my knowledge, is almost always centered around something bad, or ill-fated, or something to do w/ someone somewhere somehow meeting an agonizing end, and this spurs the comment "Why can't they ever tell of good news?" Here's my perspective: because the mass of the public [myself included] expect for things to be going okay, in a recluse sense of naive optimism that no one wants to hurt anyone else, and really the only point of news to tell the peoples that something bad has occured [because that usually gets the best ratings]. This is backed by the old axiom of "no news is good news", meaning if nothing is being reported to apathetic people then they assume that everything is peachy keen and there's no need to worry.
Going along w/ the same wavelength as the previous paragraph, it goes to say that that which is different frightens, worries, and completely captivates the type of people that bury themselves in their own world. They want to forget it, destroy it, or they want to change it to fit their own perspective of how things should be, i.e. "normal" [which, now that I think about it, can all be categorized in the inane concept of "absurd and desperate normalization", and thus are the same in essence]. This is why normality [which is akin to but different then "stability"] is highly over-rated, because there can never be any sort of normal "normal", for normality is different in everyones' eyes. In a round-about way, this brings me to my pet-peeve that angsty people are more noticed that those who don't gather all attention to themselves and are consciencious of the happenings around them [this does not, however, label fun/humorous attention-getting techniques as annoying, necessarily].
