Christmastime ALREADY?!
Seriously, wasn't it just Halloween a minute ago? I think it was... all the jewelry and makeup from my Cleopatra costume is still sitting on my bathroom counter, waiting to be put away!
This Christmas is... so far, nonexistent in my eyes. I am so not feeling the Christmas spirit. We still don't have our tree up, we haven't got any decorations at all out... We still haven't gotten any shopping done, not even one little teeny gift or stocking stuffer. What's worse, our BILLS still haven't been paid, so I don't even know HOW we will be getting gifts. Oh, we'll have SOME money - I have been saving coins all year long, so I have a couple hundred dollars' worth of metal to roll up and deposit into my bank. But the boys need clothes, and those add up fast. It would be easy to spend a couple hundred on ONE child, because the stuff they need are necessities like jeans, sweatshirts, a jacket, underwear, socks, pajamas - and I have to buy for two kids.
Plus, you know... what kid wants to open nothing but clothes on Christmas morning? I so want to get them each a couple little "fun" things to open, something that they'd like and use, and something that wouldn't go up on a closet shelf to collect dust all year long, like other toys they've gotten for Christmas. I don't know how I'm going to do that. I was planning on knitting them little Sackboys from Little Big Planet, their favorite video game. But, alas... I still haven't even started. The pattern looks easy enough, but I'm not familiar with following a pattern. Plus, it'd take me forever to finish them - I dunno if I'll be done by Christmas! I can try, though. That's the least I can do.
I'm going to swing by my mom and dad's house in a little while to get my artificial tree. Hopefully, once I get the tree up, I will feel more "Christmasy". Holy crap... I don't even know where to put it this year. Damn! This will require some shuffling around of furniture, and I really don't know what could be shuffled where. Sigh. Why does this year have to be so complicated?!
