[TRANS] CanCam (Sept 2020): SixTONES ―New Profile― & SixTONES Data

Jul 23, 2020 02:40

SixTONES
― New Profile ―

Yokogao [side profile] - known as ‘profile’ in English, is also a representation of a person’s way of living. Although it’s something that they themselves can’t see often, it is undoubtedly a defining aspect of that person’s ‘face’; maybe that’s where the definition originates from. In 2020, SixTONES continue to be active in a spectacular fashion. What colour is the future that they’re aiming towards? Here we trace the current silhouettes of these 6 who continue to evolve in any era.

“Forward, is always where we’re aiming for”

Kouchi Yuugo
Being noisy is just right for SixTONES

Q: What do you like about the new song “NAVIGATOR”?
I like the sprinting-vibe. It feels like the song ends in a flash, so much so that it feels like you’ve overtaken someone. And then there’re the violins during the intro…  That really captivated me. In the MV too, the match between the intense choreography and CG was so amazing that it shocked even us!

Q: What are the coupling songs like?
For both songs, we went for pretty strong tracks out of a super varied pool of candidates. Our opinions were surprisingly split as well. We often choose whilst considering if it’ll be suitable for a concert, or if it would perform well on a stage, but the idea of just letting the song shine was thrown in too. They are 2 songs that really lift your mood when you give them a listen.

Q: What unprecedented things do you want to achieve as SixTONES in the future?
I want to earn more identifiers as “a Johnnys’ first” or “an artist’s first”. So that we’re able to be seen as powerful no matter what show we guest on or where we perform at.

Q: What’s something that made you feel blessed that the 6 of you are together?
I say this positively, but… our suitability? We didn’t keep in contact in private at all during the stay-home period, but we were really excited to see each other for work after so long. In those little moments, it just makes me feel that the 6 of us are great after all.

Q: Where would you bring CanCam readers if you had to navigate them?
Hmm~ I want to bring them around my hometown, Yokohama. It’s like, I want to introduce them to the deeper sides of Yokohama (laughs). Rather than the Red Brick Warehouse, I want to bring them to the lesser known Noge or Isezaki--chou which is a little further out.

Q: What gave you grief or enlightened you during your remote-recordings in the stay-home period?
Grief… It’s not so much grief, but it was hard to get into work-mode being at home. Wearing a costume puts me in the mood after all. I suppose that gave me a bit of trouble. But in a good sense, I was able to work without being high strung. Also, I realised again that SixTONES really are noisy when we started working normally again (laughs). In interviews like today’s too, everyone’s just honestly spirited. But that noisiness may actually be just right.

Q: Some words of love to fans who you haven’t met in a while!
I think there will be lonely times and sad times, and many things that still don’t go in the way you want. I hope you can watch SixTONES or read CanCam in those times and enjoy your own time. Not pushing yourself too hard is the most important!

Matsumura Hokuto
I think it’s a new song that will only surpass everyone’s expectations

Q: What do you like about “NAVIGATOR”?
There are the lyrics “if you stay quiet like an idiot, then you’ll never break free”. “Stay quiet like an idiot”?! It’s too direct… But it’s the truth. Having those lyrics made me think that we had to be people who could sing those strong words.

Q: How do you feel now that you’re finally able to release this song?
Um… One thing I’m apprehensive about is whether or not the expectations for it have fallen flat. It may be tiring to wait and wonder when (the release date) will be, and for the extra time that we’ve had to make them wait and anticipate, the more this single needs to surpass their expectations. But looking back, I think this song accomplished that, so I’m looking forward to July 22.

Q: What new side of SixTONES can we see from the new song?
I believed we’ve shown “strength” quite a lot since our Junior days, but this time round, it’s as if each of us are warped, like you can see slivers of our dark side. Hesitation showed up on our expressions too. It’s a song that contains such powers.

Q: What’s something that made you feel blessed that the 6 of you are together?
… We did the first broadcast of All Night Nippon radio with all 6 of us, and I felt a bit like that then. That we’re good together. We keep it to 2 people since it gets out of hand when there’s 6 of us, but doing it as 6 as a special of sorts, I felt “ahh, this feeling, it’s nice”.

Q: What gave you grief or enlightened you during your remote-recordings in the stay-home period?
I realised that I fidget a lot here and there. I’m always restless; like touching my hair or rubbing my eyes… honestly like the epitome of an unconfident person. It was embarrassing to watch… seeing myself be so restless…

Q: With work starting to go back to normal, what’s something that you’ve realised anew?
I’ve said this right from the beginning, but I really love working! And I want to work every day. That’s why to spend my days without being able to work every day was really… tough. Hanging out with friends and getting a break is enjoyable only because you’ve given it your best at work. Hence I spent my stay-home time preparing for work. When we all met again after a long while… I think we all tried to act normal but we all had glee in our eyes (laughs).

Q: Some words of love to fans who you haven’t met in a while!
I feel that we were able to make many memories… being able to understand each other even more and lend out a helping hand even further from being fellows who overcame the same experience. In fact, I’m looking forward to what’s coming up. Wait for it yeah?

Morimoto Shintarou
An unprecedented thing that I want to accomplish as a group is landing on the moon!

Q: What’s something that made you feel blessed that the 6 of you are together?
I think how we all care for each other is nice. We have to produce a jingle every week for our All Night Nippon radio at the moment, and the members would send reminders in our group chat or something. There’s no specific person who sends the reminders, but just whoever remembers. There’s also this camaraderie where someone will say something like “let’s take a picture of this and upload it~”, and we’ll answer “good idea!” for our Instagram. The fact that we support each other is really nice.

Q: What do you like about “NAVIGATOR”?
The grandeur from the intro’s orchestra-like feel… I think it matches well with SixTONES’ vocals. And also, I like to listen to music on a loud volume. The impact that hits you from listening to this with all ears is fantastic. I hope everyone can experience that.

Q: What unprecedented things do you want to achieve in the future as SixTONES?
Something like landing on the moon would be cool. For example a concert at the space station! We’re in a time where it’s becoming possible, so I want to try out things that make people think “eh, really?!”.

Q: What’s something unprecedented that you think you’ve accomplished?
This is hard… ah, I got it! The cuts I choose to eat at yakiniku don’t differ much to elders and haven’t changed at all. I only eat gyu-tan [beef tongue] and shio-horumon [offal with salt], but kids don’t usually eat horumon right? I’ve honestly been eating it since I was 5 or 6 years old. I don’t think there’s someone else who is so dedicated to the food they love. Even the way I eat it is the same. I have it with soy sauce.

Q: What gave you grief or enlightened you during your remote-recordings in the stay-home period?
Realising “I can’t get into work-mode!”. I didn’t feel like working at all, wearing my casual clothes at home; I feel sorry to everyone for that. Sorry for being too natural… You know how you look fatter if you film something from a low angle right? I’d probably notice if I was outside [of home], but it didn’t bother me at all. I just thought whatever (laughs).

Q: With work starting to go back to normal, what’s something that you’ve realised anew?
Um… that I’ve gained some corona kilos. I realised that I puffed up a bit when I look at photos (laughs). I ate breakfast, lunch & dinner properly during the stay-home period, so it was healthy but… I need to start dieting soon.

Q: Some words of love to fans who you haven’t met in a while!
I think it will be unsettling that things which were the norm are not so anymore. But our CD will be released now, and we’ll be able to meet one day so long as we stay healthy. I want you to believe that we will meet again and wait for us.

Jesse
I’m glad SixTONES are these 6 people with absolutely different personalities

Q: What do you like about “NAVIGATOR”?
I like it from the intro I guess. As if there’s something closing in... I like the feeling that you have to complete the mission, that you’re being chased by someone. The challenging attitude in the lyrics “will you run through the night or take a chance at dawn” are SixTONES-like too. I think it suits the anime “Fugou Keiji” (which it’s the opening theme for) really well.

Q: How do you feel now that you’re finally able to release this song?
That’s what’s important first and foremost. Being able to let the fans listen to the song. They’ve probably been waiting and waiting for it, so I’m grateful for that. The release date became the 22nd because of the postponement, which is the same as our debut date, and I think that’s pretty nice too.

Q: What’s something that made you feel blessed that the 6 of you are together?
I’m glad that the 6 of us have absolutely different personalities. We’ve been together since Bakaleya (the drama “Shiritsu Bakaleya Koukou” which the 6 of them co-starred in) in 2012, and even from back then, I’d always thought that it would be fun to be with them, with this group. I’m happy that we were able to debut with these members who do as they please.

Q: What’s something that you’ve started lately?
Recently it’d be candles. I received lots for my birthday, enough to fill a buck-… half a bucket (laughs). They smell nice and I like candles in the first place so I’m happy. My room’s going to get more and more sexy!

Q: What gave you grief or enlightened you during your remote-recordings in the stay-home period?
I can retake something multiple times for bits that I get fussy about since I’m alone. That was the case with (the Smile Up! Project) song too. I tried it with a song that I composed and penned at first, but I ended up going with “100% yuuki” which everyone knows. It may have an image of being bright and child-like, but it’s a really good song that delivers a straight message. I chose it because it’s perfect for this climate. And then… finding out that the camera wasn’t filming when I was talking. That happened once in a while~ (laughs).

Q: With work starting to go back to normal, what’s something that you’ve realised anew?
That having work is a blessing and that it’s fun to meet people. I realised that a regular normal day is the best. I think that everyone takes things granted too easily and should enjoy each moment of everyday.

Q: Some words of love to fans who you haven’t met in a while!
We can’t hold concerts yet… but there’s Instagram and YouTube, and we’ll also continue to do things our way, so I hope you can enjoy that. Let’s live life positively without feeling down! Don’t forget to smile.

Kyomoto Taiga
Meeting with the members in person does make anything go smoother after all

Q: What do you like about “NAVIGATOR”?
The narrativity of the song I guess. It’s structured with a slightly thrilling sensation; you don’t lose interest no matter which part you listen to. The atmosphere of the building climax at the end of the second verse and our dance break during the interlude are cool too… It’s packed with things that I love.

Q: What new side of SixTONES can we see from the new song?
A slightly scary SixTONES. As you watch the MV, I think you’ll wonder what the 6 of us are thinking about and sense some darkness, a dark and serious side.

Q: What’s something unprecedented that you think you’ve accomplished?
Everything basically… My thought process is so different from others that probably… it’d be a subject to research into. Ever since I was an elementary schooler, my answer would never be the same as everyone else’s when the teacher asked “what comes to mind if I say ____?”. Whilst everyone said the same thing, I would stop myself since the first syllable of my answer was already different. That’s something I’d always experienced. My norm is probably different from others, and ha~ it always made me feel suffocated. And conversely, my fantasising developed. Interesting things come to mind quite often, so I keep them stored in my head.

Q: Where would you bring CanCam readers if you had to navigate them?
If it’s somewhere that I could navigate around, then there’s only my beloved Kyoto. I’m collecting goshuin [temple & shrine seals], so I would go by myself too. The food is delicious too. I go around 3 times a year at most. I want you to leave it to me if you’re going on a holiday to Kyoto.

Q: What’s something that made you feel blessed that the 6 of you are together?
Probably when we’re putting on a great concert. But I notice it in all the key points. Like being wild in our charm, or being serious to suit [the performance], and my male friends tell me that we’re cool too. It’s my ideal to be told that we look cool by males, so I’m glad to be a part of SixTONES.

Q: What gave you grief or enlightened you during your remote-recordings in the stay-home period?
It’s more lively after as expected when I see the members in the flesh. The same goes for radios too. We did them remotely as well, but the conversation flowed better when I was actually with Juri; it made me think that meeting in person probably makes everything go smoother. There was fun in doing things remotely, but it made me realise anew the importance of meeting [in person]. The freeness in popping in and out of a remote drinking-party was good though (laughs).

Q: Some words of love to fans who you haven’t met in a while!
I think there were aspects that were brought closer instead exactly because we’re in such times. I started my blog and was able to communicate things that I wouldn’t have been able to otherwise, so whilst this may sound imprudent, I feel that this was a meaningful period as well. I think we’d be able to go even crazier and have fun when we meet next time after this period, so please look forward to that time!

Tanaka Juri
Our heads were 99% filled with thoughts about the fans even when we couldn’t meet

Q: What do you like about “NAVIGATOR”?
The visual stimuli from the MV makes me nervous and excited. In a time where CG can create anything, the fact that we purposely chose to use lighting only for the dance scenes… using analogue techniques is instead really impactful in this day and age. It’s a piece of work that was effective and meaningful to us.

Q: How do you feel now that you’re finally able to release this song?
I think the fans must’ve been restless, thinking “when will I be able to listen to it?”, but we too were really excited to show it to everyone too. Same with the MV, the coupling tracks were chosen carefully, and I think it’ll surprise (the fans) when it’s released into the world. IQ in music terms… I call it musical IQ arbitrarily, but it’s a gathering of songs with high [musical IQ] scores. You can’t go wrong with either of them, which made it that much harder to choose!

Q: What’s something that made you feel blessed that the 6 of you are together?
Having fun when we’re chatting. It’s a given to have fun whilst you work since you’re doing something you want to do. However, having fun even when we’re moving in-between jobs or waiting is wonderful.

Q: What unprecedented things do you want to achieve as SixTONES in the future?
Something like winning a grammy. It isn’t a pipe dream but a goal that I’m actually aiming towards for the future. Same with getting first on the Billboard charts, I want to be recognised [for making] global music. We may be idols, but all 6 of us are firm on pouring our energies into music in particular.

Q: What’s something unprecedented that you think you’ve accomplished?
Eh~ What would it be?! On the contrary, it’s like there’s no one who hasn’t stepped on unprecedented paths to this extent. I go to exactly the same place for meals; I don’t go to new beauty salons either; I buy clothes from the same brands over and over… just a while ago even, I spent 2 weeks eating tsukemen [noodles with dipping broth] for lunch and sushi for dinner on repeat (laughs).

Q: What gave you grief or enlightened you during your remote-recordings in the stay-home period?
You know, the time lag is rough. That time lag. I did radio remotely as well, but I couldn’t maintain the usual tempo; it made me realise that throwing in a quip and such relied on communication. For the merits where everyone showed a more natural side easier since we were at home, there were definitely huge demerits too. When work started [normally] again… “It’s fun! Work is super fun. Johnnys are the best!” is what came to mind (laughs).

Q: Some words of love to fans who you haven’t met in a while!
Our heads were 99% filled with thoughts about everyone even when we couldn’t meet. It’s true that I don’t know when we’ll be able to meet next, but that time will definitely come and we’re always working to provide all of you with content continuously, so you can be at ease.

more & more SixTONES’ Data

We heard you wanted to know more about SixTONES, so we got them to answer these questions honestly♡ These 6 get more interesting the more you know… as expected!

Q. How’s your eyesight?
Yuugo: 1.0
I’m always playing games or watching TV so I think it’s gotten worse… but it was 1.0 the last time I checked. [Reading] the digital signs at the station has been hard lately.
Hokuto: Bad
I wear contacts. I wonder what degree they are, I’ve forgotten already.
Shintarou: 1.8!
I feel like it was 2.0, but I’ll go with 1.8 since I don’t know what it is (laughs).
Jesse: 2.0!
It should be 2.0. Contacts are scary so I definitely won’t get them! I wore fashion glasses recently for the first time in 2 years.
Taiga: Bad
I’ve forgotten the prescription. I’ve had moments where I couldn’t read the words on fan’s uchiwas at concerts lately, and I’m thinking to get contacts since I feel sorry to them. But it’s scary since I haven’t had anything in my eyes before…
Juri: Really bad
It’s not even 0.1. I wear contacts when I have to see things clearly like on TV shows and in concerts. And when I’m driving too. I have both glasses and contacts, but I don’t wear them on the daily.

Q. What’s a hair & makeup trick you’re good at? ※Apparently they still do their own hair and makeup for concerts!
Yuugo: None
Seriously none. I’m quick but I don’t do anything fancy. I only have 3 choices - put my fringe back, put it in a side part or let it fall straight (laughs).
Hokuto: Eyebrows
I draw my eyebrows properly. Thoroughly. I experimented with various products, but I’ve settled on ones that irritate my skin the least.
Shintarou: Perm-like hair without using an iron
I can make a casual perm-like hairstyle by using gel and scrunching up my hair. I overuse it pretty often. It flattens out immediately with sweat or humidity since it hadn’t had heat applied though (laughs).
Jesse: Slick-back
I don’t know. It’s not that good but my members say that my slick back is really good. The key is to get this 4th piece of hair and… (laughs) Ahahaha. It’s just using a comb to get it neat. And putting on gel to make it shiny.
Taiga: If I must say, then eyeliner
I’m probably the fastest at hair and makeup in the group. I’m done in 5~6 minutes including doing my hair. I’m often praised by makeup artists that I’m good at drawing my eyeliner.
Juri: Almost non-existent
I’m really bad. I suck at both my hair and face!

Q. We’ll keep this between you and me, but are you good with alcohol?
Yuugo: I’m not
I don’t really like it… The [first] drink we toast with is enough. I choose fruity drinks like umeshu if I had to drink. I laugh a lot when I’m drunk. And then… I fall asleep (laughs).
Hokuto: Not strong at all
I basically only drink with friends that trust. I feel happy when I’m drunk. In other words, I only drink with happy people.
Shintarou: I’m not strong but weak!
People often say that my expression doesn’t change, but… I will go and hug the shop’s pillar when I’m drunk. It’s like my hands get lonely. That’s why I grab the pillar (laughs).
Jesse: I’m strong
Is what I’m told by others. I get even happier when I’m drunk. I want to get even more pumped up. And then I end up footing the bill (laughs).
Taiga: I was strong (past tense)
I didn’t drink at all during the stay-home period so I’ve gotten considerably weaker… I don’t want to drink ever if that were possible. Nothing really changes when I get drunk, but I’m a super happy drunk.
Juri: I’m not strong, just normal. I drink wine lately. Reds.
I didn’t used to like it, but I was hooked once I tried a nice one. I don’t make a fuss or fall asleep when I’m drunk.  I’m basically my usual self until I get exhausted at the end.

Q. How many t-shirts do you own?
Yuugo: An uncountable number!
I have a ridiculous amount! There are loads of American-casual style ones. I did throw out a 50L bag worth of t-shirts in the stay-home period though.
Hokuto: I haven’t checked and it’s uncountable!
I have a lot of printed tees too. I’ll even buy t-shirts that definitely need to be worn with a tank top, and even if the fabric is rough (laughs). Most of it is folded and stacked like a vintage shop. And then I’ll use the steamer on it before I wear it. I just end up buying t-shirts~
Shintarou: Around 25?
I have loads of plain tees. I recently did a plain crew neck and v-neck haul too!
Jesse: Around 50
It’s around that number if I include the unopened ones. The ones I like are, hmm~  T-shirts that have like a bag on it (laughs).  Like the pocket sticks out, or a t-shirt with a bag design on it, that sort of style.
Taiga: I have heaps
I only wear t-shirts in summer, and just a t-shirt with something draped on top during winter. I like simple designs in general. And a big silhouette that isn’t too tight around my neckline. Something that I can wear comfortably.
Juri: Around 30 I guess
I have around 20 plain white tees alone. They’re simply plain and L-sized. I wear those religiously. I basically only wear that in summer!

Q. What do you think you’d be doing right now if you weren’t in Johnnys?
Yuugo: I have no idea
But I think I’d be married. Becoming a cool dad was a goal of mine.
Hokuto: Karate
I think I’d be doing karate. I might’ve aimed to become a pro.
Shintarou: Sports teacher
I think I would’ve become a teacher. I love school! It’s not that I wanted to teach others what I love, but I thought it would be nice to be someone like that.  I was planning to get a teaching qualification. I like sports, so probably a sports teacher~
Jesse: Founding a company
Creating my own brand, café, restaurant or bar. I think I’d have a crack at various things.
Taiga: Should be related to creating something
I might’ve had a weird job. I like to draw, and although maybe not an illustrator, but I think something related with creating something.
Juri: I might’ve not had a proper job
I wanted to be a basketball player, a doctor and all of that, but it wasn’t like I put any effort in to achieve it. I have lots of dreams, but probably none of them were realised.

Q. What do you think the reason would be if you got in an argument with your girlfriend?
Yuugo: Like leaving things out?
I notice those things. I don’t like to leave a chair out when I leave a restaurant either. I’d probably call her out for it, and tell her to tuck it back properly. I’ll say the same thing to a guy too.
Hokuto: If I get told that my clothes look daggy or something
I’m wearing that because I like it, and it’s nothing you should have a say in! But maybe it won’t get as far as an argument.
Shintarou: “You always go drinking with Jesse… is that true?!”
I guess?! (laughs) I went drinking with Jesse all the time until the stay-home period. We’d go for a meal after work or something. Maybe that’ll seem suspect (laughs).
Jesse: Being constrained I guess
I dunno~ I have lots of friends so maybe she’ll start from there? If that happens then I’ll invite her (to hang out with my friends too). And then I also put my clothes and stuff on chairs when I can’t be bothered, so I’d probably get called out for that at least once…
Taiga: When I’m lied to
As well as hiding the things that you want me to say. I don’t think there’s anything other than that. We might not argue that much.
Juri: There’s probably many reasons why they’re angry
Since I’m sloppy. I’m always lazing about and am loose as well. I can imagine my partner getting angry at me. I don’t get angry in general so there probably won’t be arguments.

Q. What’s an action or phrase from a girl that will turn you off immediately?
Yuugo: Looking down on their family
Cheating is also an immediate turn off.
Hokuto: Dismissing my work
I live for work after all. She’s free to have her own opinion, but I don’t think I can be with someone who goes out of their way to tell that to me.
Shintarou: Impoliteness
I’d probably get angry if they do something wilfully. For example… coming to see me without any notice is a bit hard on me.
Jesse: Crying easily
I don’t want them to worry about me so someone who cries easily is a bit… I feel that things like “where are you now?” could lead to an argument too.
Taiga: Secrets and lies
Also if they look down on someone precious to me, no matter how slight would make me feel that they have an insecure mind. I’m absolutely fine when I’m the one getting teased, but to do it to someone they haven’t even met isn’t good.
Juri: I can’t accept even unwanted [body] hair
I was brought up with my brothers so I sort of have really high ideals about women. So if for example they have even a bit of unwanted [body] hair, then I can’t accept it (laughs)!

Q. Are you the type to hold hands, link arms or get shy when you’re out on the streets with your lover? ※Imagining that you’re not a celebrity.
Yuugo: Get shy probably…
But I do want to hold hands. Linking arms seems like it will restrict my movement so I don’t want that.
Hokuto: I want to hold hands
Yeah. People who hold hands on the street or elsewhere look like they’re having fun.
Shintarou: I definitely won’t initiate it
I don’t really like to be clingy. I’ll accept it if they do it, but I probably won’t initiate it from my side…
Jesse: I want to hold hands
I want to keep holding hands even if I mess about and go “ayy~!”. It’s probably easier in winter since it’s cold.
Taiga: I do have the desire… to walk around holding hands
Maybe it’s because of my job? Maybe I wouldn’t want to do it if I was in an environment where it was possible. I wonder what it’d be. Maybe it depends on the person? I would go along with her if she wants to do it.
Juri: I don’t want to hold hands
I don’t find it embarrassing, but I don’t want to hold hands. We can hold hands when we want to when we’re at home anyway, so there’s no need to hold hands just because we’re out on a date.

Q. Who do you want to date from the company if you were a female?
Yuugo: (TOKIO’s) Matsuoka-san
Because he’s overflowing with manliness.
Hokuto: Myself… is my get out of jail free answer
I’m a bit fastidious about cleanliness… and I don’t know how clean other people are…
Shintarou: (King & Prince’s) Jinguuji
Probably Jin. The fact that we’ve had a long relationship plays a part, and he’s simply a person I can trust. I think he’s outstanding as a man.
Jesse: (TOKIO’s) Nagase-kun
He’s tall and manly. How he reeks of manliness is nice.
Taiga: Probably (Kis-My-Ft2’s) Tamamori-kun
I simply like the atmosphere that wraps around him.
Juri: (TOKIO’s) Matsuoka-kun
Isn’t it nice that he oozes of manliness? Like a Showa [1926-1989] man. I can imagine him being frank in a good way, and treat me nicely and maintain a good distance.

Q. Girls listen up! How do you discern a “good guy” from the others?
Yuugo: I think someone dependable is good in the end
Maybe the easiest to tell is if they’re punctual. Whether they are punctual or if they’ll let you know [if they’re running late]. Someone who can’t do that isn’t good. I feel like someone who’s loose with time will cheat too.
Hokuto: Don’t go for a second-eldest son Gemini with a B blood type
Because that’s what I am. I think it’s an annoying personality… You really shouldn’t go for them.
Shintarou: Someone who understands themselves
If they wear branded items but their shoes are in tatters, or if they’re acting cool but the cologne they wear doesn’t suit them… I think it’s uncool if someone doesn’t understand themselves well. Someone who’s cool would be conscious of how they look from head to toe, and on the contrary, there are people who don’t care about what they wear at all and still be cool. I think a cool man is someone who understands themselves well.
Jesse: Someone does something even if it’s bothersome
For example passing plates around, serving the salad to everyone, or doing the dishes immediately when going to a friend’s place. Men are unbothered [to do those things], so someone who does those things are charming. There’s no point if they only look good.
Taiga: Someone chill in a positive sense
How they speak plays a part, but I think someone who is appropriately unhurried has composure and you can date them peacefully.
Juri: Someone who doesn’t speak much
Aren’t people who talk a lot untrustworthy (laughs)? It’s like they’re good with their words. Also… there’s this person called Juri… yeah, me. I think someone different to me is good. You might get a sense of superiority if you date a popular person, but someone who’s more dependable is definitely better. Yeah.

Q. Please liken the type of girl you like to an animal and draw it!
Yuugo: Dolphin
I think girls who are at ease are nice, so I imagined a dolphin who’s swimming elegantly.  Someone who works well individually and in a group is good too. The key of the drawing is the large black eyes. Yes… I realised how bad I am at drawing (laughs).
Hokuto: A dog with a sharp face
It’s a dog~ I’m sure. Definitely from the dog family. It’s a hunting dog breed, being more cat-like than a dog. Something like, keeping to themselves, but then coming over to my side suddenly as well.
Shintarou: Crocodile
Crocodiles catch their prey and roll it around. I surprisingly quite like to be rolled around. In the palm of their hands. And then, I like distinct faces. Like someone with a sharp gaze might fit the bill.
Jesse: A dog and cat mix
Someone who both has a strong sense of self, but also comes over and depends on me like a dog. Yeah. The ears are a dog’s and the face is a cat’s. It’s long-haired.
Taiga: Elephant
When I think about an animal with tolerance, elephants came to mind. I’m talking about their personality.
Juri: Female leopard
A lady who is a little fickle and has me at her beck and call is good. A female leopard, that’s nice right? It’s sexy too.
