Smokin' Aces // Smokin' Nestor
I hired a few movies today, and one of them had to be Smokin' Aces. I didn't think it would be that great but (LOST Squee) Nestor Carbonell, Matthew Fox and Kevin Durand are in it; not to mention Jason Bateman, Ryan Reynolds and Chris Pine :D.
My initial thoughts were right, it wasn't that great :P. That said, it definitely had it's moments of lolz and "this is nuts". I'll say more, but I'll put it behind the cut so I don't spoil anyone who hasn't seen it (and some hawt pics of Nestor from Cane).
A lot of the time I wasn't interested but "Ha!" my Gods, Chris, Kevin and that other guy as the Tremor brothers... I barely understood what they said (save for Chris), such hicks and just generally insane. Dude. CHAINSAW. On the extras of the DVD the three guys playing the brothers do their interviews completely in character and it's funny as.
Hey, it's Ben Affleck! OMG the killed Ben Affleck! Lol. Him and his two friends showed up early in the movie and of course I thought they'd be there until then end but nope. They got mowed down by the Tremor brothers so randomly xD. Speaking of random, Chris making Ben talk and forgive him from the grave - I was both majorly amused and irked. The last Chris scene with one survivor of Affleck's crew was very odd and entertaining.
Yay! Nestor was nekkid. Not so much yay for him crouching by a toilet and biting off the tips of his fingers :s. He was very creepy in this movie. I so need to see more of him, he's my man of the moment.
Mullet!Foxy lmao. Srsly that Mullet and pornstache was insane. And his character being so concerned about an old lady with blue hair lol. Loved his one scene. And more than that - holy crap, homo erotica with him and Nestor. Did not see that coming. Their foreheads touched, Nestor was caressing Foxy's face and Foxy was so beautifully dieing. And then they were on top of each other on the floor. Fuck. That was so weird and so strangely hot lol. Tell me you felt the same way when you saw it O_o. I hear Nestor was "WTF" when the director told him that they would be playing the scene like that with a man hehe.
Spot the Aussie! Joel Edgerton got another movie hee. I didn't recognise him until he was 'technically' dead though. My bad.
Jason Bateman. Awesomesauce as always. But sheesh his charatcer was a skeezy bottom-feeder Lawyer and such a loser. Great job. He had a Bunny-suit head haha. And later on - Bateman in a bra and knickers. Another thing that was very wrong but he was hot (in the body area, not the fever boils on his face yuck). And apparently the womens' underwear was his personal choice. Oh, Jason, you crazy motha I love you.
The action really ramped up toward the end, I was expecting it to be full on for most of the movie. I really liked the elevator scene with Ray Liotta and Nestor - the walls reflecting Nestor multiple times and showing a warped and intimidating face. Then the bullets flying off the mirrors and pumping into each other looks pretty great.
All the FBI stuff came together in the end but yeah, I really didn't care. The final scene with Ryan pulling the plugs on both of them was really good though with the music and him just sitting there, after unloading his gun and putting his badge down. It was really strange to have many of the Assassins getting away in the end. I liked the tiny moments of humanity we saw in them however I couldn't get past the fact that the FBI didn't really put forth any plans to stop/capture the Assassins, other than getting to Jeremy Piven first. I know that wasn't the point of the film but meh. Whatever. I have Nestor pics :P
I think his chest was waxed/shaved a few weeks before this coz he's not so hairy :P. I only watched a few minutes of Cane and just didn't like it. It seemed like a prime-time length soap opera. So glad it was axed, and so glad he's back on LOST. Here's 9 damn fine pics of him semi-nekkid, one promo shot, and one of him as Batmanuel which makes me laugh like a grinning idiot.

I've been looking around and can't find The Tick online anywhere except at Hulu (which only caters for the U.S -_- boo). I've read his lines for the few episodes that were made (I have the first ep) and hehe this character is such Eurotrash but so funny.
So who else thinks that someone should strip Richard Alpert's shirt off and have many gratuitous shots of him, Sawyer, Jack and Desmond on the beach?

Zomg *just saw how many comments she got for her 4x12 icon batch* Other icon makers get way more than this, but for me, it's a lot. *G* I'm gonna go read and reply to those :D after I watch the two parts of the BSG S3 finale. I downloaded all of S3 (except the first ep coz I can't get it as a single file :() in about a week. Very bad Lea, eating up the downloads. ...I couldn't help it. The Cylons made me do it (A).
