MORE AWESOME THAN ANYTHING

You know what the greatest thing ever made for TS3/Medieval is? The FPS limiter thingy by Pescado!!!!!!!!!! I just discovered it last week and i was able to play TS3 without smelling my graphics cards the whole time. I just played Medieval for like 30-40 minutes and the thing was 87 degrees and starting to stink up the room again. I was so damn ( Read more... )

What does the FPS thing do? Also, how do you like the game? :)

And your layout! I don't know how long it's been changed, but it's really pretty. :)

Well, basically and in my own language, every game has a pre-set limit on how much fps it supports. For sims3 it's 30, i believe. And then MOST games, including sims2, have an option called vsnc, that tells your graphics card to not try harder than that limit (among other things). Sims3 and Medieval for some reason don't have vsync. EA knew that not having that in sims3 is causing problems and they still didn't put it in Medieval *grrrr*. Anyways... When your game doesn't have vsync, your graphics card tries and tries super hard to run your game in super high fps, which overheats your gpu and eventually kills it. So this thing is SUPER DUPER important ( ... )

Oh my gosh, that's kind of odd that they didn't put it in TS3, considering how much TS3 takes up anyways. But thanks for the info on it! I'll have to check if I ever install TS3 again.

And wow. I haven't even torrented yet, and I'm not sure it will. It gives pretty pictures, but a game where they direct you to everything sounds tedious.

Yeah, pretty pictures are about all you are gonna get from it :D Being directed for each tiny step you need to take is a game for 5-year old imo.

When you are playing either game, enter cheat fps on and look at the numbers on the right. Mine were above 200 at times, which was making my GPU smell and smoke :D It shouldn't be more than 60, at best.
