Kathy went to NYC, not too long ago, to see some friends. She and her friend Eric stood around Central Park all of one day to score tickets to Shakespeare in the Park. A college-age dude standing in line just behind them was singing the Narwhals song under his breath. When he finished the line “They’re the Jedi of the sea”, Kathy turned around, ( Read more... )

I will need a review of that cat comb, if you decide to buy it. With its crazy rotating teeth.

Okay. I wish I could try it out before I bought it. I suspect that Yuki hates combs regardless of their hair-pulling properties.

Just as a thought, have you ever tried a curry comb? Our cats hate combs and brushes, but they're unanimously in favor (in varying degrees) of curry combs.

We have one of these, which I think qualifies as a curry comb, though I call it a brush. It has short rubber fingers. Altair grooves out on it, but Yuki-chan hates it. She can stand it a little longer than a flea comb, however.

Thanks! You know about the scritch? Our cats go nuts for a good lumbar scritch, or even better, a good base-of-tail scritch. I can even gauge their enjoyment by how stiffly they raise their tails (what we call "tail tension").

Yeah, our cats all love the scritch! I go by the "Hall of Presidents" look in their eye, and the involuntary air-lick. I usually get maximum lick in the halfway to 2/3-length range.

Altair has this bizarre habit of lifting up her left hind leg during the scritch. The better the scritch, the higher the foot will rise.

Hahaha! If you laugh at a cat during the scritch, she won't notice. It's a free pass.

Our cats are very generous in forgiving, if not completely ignoring, all manner of laughter and mockery.
