We had our cat Math put to sleep yesterday morning. Needless to say, we're still recovering from the shock. It all happened amazingly fast.

Aw, thanks. You got to know her pretty well. I really like that picture-it shows off her white whisker particularly well. (Actually, the top inch or so was black, but of course you can't see that against her coat.) A few weeks ago I noticed that she was beginning to grow a second white whisker.

I never knew Math, but I give you my sympathy. As a fellow person who has had cats in his life I have from personal experience an idea of what you are going through right now.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss.

Thank you for your words of sympathy! My lifetime has been spanned by the lives of three cats; and this is the first time I've been on hand when one actually passed away. It wasn't a complete shock, as Math (named after the Celtic sorcerer) had been unwell for a number of months; but her passing has left a certain emptiness in the house that we will have to accustom ourselves to.

I'm very sad for you and Kathy. I'm glad I got to hear her angry a-lung a-lung a-lung peanut butter growl.

Thank you for telling a fine good-bye story.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I'm glad to know that it was (relatively) quick happening, for whatever small comfort that is.
