Practically every blogger with an interest in science reported on the Kitzmiller decision before I even got to work on Tuesday, so I didn't feel it necessary to weigh in, as every possible reaction had already been set to print. Nevertheless, I'd like to share this tidbit from our scientific friends across the Atlantic.

Not just any fish-that's a zebrafish! I told you about God, the faculty candidate who was wooed and worshipped because he published some 20 papers during his postdoc? He worked on a gigantic project looking for genes affection development of the zebrafish nervous system, under the Nobel laureate Christiane Nüsslein. The project required saturation of the zebrafish genome with null mutations, and subsequent maintenance of tens of thousands of mutant zebrafish lines. God beat the cadence on the kettledrums while myriads of slaves, shackled to their benches, searched for mutant lines with improper nervous system development.
