So, Yaoi-Con is putting more stuff on the auction block. And one of the items is a doujinshi from Miyamoto Kano. I love her stories. Quite simply, I would describe them as epic. They are not just story arcs, they are universes(no shit, that's how the stories are grouped together i.e. The Rules Universe, the Walker Universe). Her art is...I can't even descibe how much I like it. She nails painful longing, indecision, contemplation, and every other emotion that sometimes comes across as blank features in other works. I get sucked in so easily.
So, I'm bidding.
It's not for many mangakas that I will buy works that I can't even read. The list is extremely small. And, I was pretty gutted I couldn't see her last year at Yaoi-Con. Have to support this year's event. I plan to go, got the request for time-off turned in ages ago. Another of the short-list mangakas is coming. Ayano Yamane of the Viewfinder series!
This means that when those signs go up at work asking for help with staff deficits I will be penciling myself in quite a bit. Burnout here I come!
