Update
Hello everyone! I survived basic, but haven't been able to communicate with the outside world b/c of a lack of internet. I fixed that problem over Christmas break. I now have Cingular laptopconnect, which is pretty fast. It hums along close to DSL speed.
Anyway, it's freezing cold here in TX (...who would of thought)! My base is going on two days of being shut down b/c people don't know how to drive on ice. It sucks because we don't get personal time. Technically, we're still POI, or "at work", so we have to stay in the barracks and do maintenance. There are only so many times that one can sweep the floor.
