Anyone wanting to keep up with the Animal Rescue Groups
This is a good site to see what is happening and which groups are actively helping the animals on the Gulf.

I see where the LA Vet University is also doing a tremendous job of trying to save and reunite pets and their owners. http://www.vetmed.lsu.edu/
It does my soul good to see all the outpouring of love for our fellow human beings as well as their beloved pets and the wildlife.
If you can scrounge up an extra dollar or two, I think any of these groups would really appreciate the help. Some are even taking donations of supplies. :)
You know, there are people refusing to leave their homes even though they are living in horrible conditions because they won't leave thier pets to fend for themselves.
There is a family stuck on their second floor (due to flooding) that are actually taking in as many strays that manage to make it to their house. They won't leave unless their new friends are taken care of. They are even throwing food out a second story window to a poor pouch that is trapped in their neighbor's flooded back yard.
