Kitties, Kitties and More Kitties Die Tomorrow

Jun 19, 2006 18:43

The kitty situation at Coweta Animal Control, GA is beyond out of control. Last week over 125 came into the shelter. Today another 25 came in. The shelter says they will put down all of these at noon tomorrow, June 20th. Anyone wanting to adopt/Rescue must get there early.

I'm a little late, but I'm sure they can always use $$ =)

Colleen - have you thought about trying to get them set up with MissionFish through eBay? I would love to do some charity auctions for Death Row Dog (and kitties!) rescue, and eBay GivingWorks/MissionFish is the only "legal" way right now to do eBay charity auctions (in the past when I've tried to do non-mission fish charity auctions some snarky person always reports me and the auction gets pulled).

It is very easy to get an organization set up with MissionFish:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/nonprofit.html#certify

Basically they just need a brief description of the group, proof of non-profit status, and a voided check so they can do electronic transfers of the money raised. It would only take maybe half an hour to set it up and I (and I'm sure many others) could set up some charity auctions (they even have a system now where you can at least donate 10%, 50%, etc. of an auction's proceeds if not all 100%).

I don't always have cash on hand, but I sure as heck always have art on hand, so it would be a good way for us artists and other eBayers to help out!

Thank you Jasmine!!!!

For MissionFish do you have your 501 (3)c? We hope to have that back from IRS before the end of the year praying sooner. LOL

I'll read up on missionfish! That is something we would definitely like to do. :)

Jasmine, you are always so supported of everyone and every good cause!!! I think it's great that we can save kitties now. We've sure come a long way from late fall when we were a grassroots rescue. Not knowing what the heck we were doing except trying to save animals. heehee

We've learned a lot and are planning on some big stuff coming over the next few months.

Thanks so much for all you do!!!!!

Loves ya lots!!!
