I wish you could see the Cardinal in real life. He is so orange. Even my camera didn't capture how bright colored he is.

Yup, they love my birdbath and come and hang out in my dogwood trees waiting to see if I am going to throw them some seeds. LOL I love those Blue Jays. They don't take shit off no one!!! Heehee

What's strange is.... every since this hurricane has been hanging off the coast, there are only a few birds around right now. I don't know if rest have all skedadled to inland areas or what.

You have got National Geographic in your backyard girl! I need to come up with some more dialog for Backyard Birds. LOL!!! Espeically now since we have a saucy redhead (or rather orangehead in this case) in the mix!

I know.... I need your witty captions!!!!!!!! I'm trying so hard to capture a baby squirrel on camera. This particular squirrel has NO tail. Absolutely none!!!! LOL It is so weird looking but also very elusive! I sure bet you could come up with something good for that one! LOL

looks like that's a young cardinal...he probably hasn't gotten all of his red feathers yet. we have a bunch of them that hang-out in our yard, too...a couple of the males were a mix of red and brown for awhile. they're finally starting to turn more red now. :)

I think you are right about it just being a young male. Usually the adult males are really nervous and don't hang around long. I think where I got confused was I was thinking the brown ones with dark orange beaks were young males that just hadn't turned color yet. LOL They aren't... they are the adult females and the little brown ones with light colored beaks are the young females.

Lordy, glad I've got them straight now. I really need to read up on these birds. :)
