After everyone packed their things and loaded into the van everyone was tired. Everyone went to sleep except Haley. Haley was afraid to see her father for the first time. She wondered why the adoption center didn’t try to find him after her mom put her in there. Then it came to her. Her birth certificate didn’t have either of her real parents names on it. It had Ann’s on it. ‘Did Ann maybe name me?’ ‘But then how did I get my mother’s name for my middle name?’ Haley wondered herself to sleep finally.
The next day everyone woke up at 5:00 am.
“Okay, is everyone ready to go?” Mark asked.
“Wait..” Haley said. She got out of the car to say goodbye to Tristian.
“Tristian, I’m sorry that you can’t come,” Haley said.
“It’s okay. Just have fun and keep me on the brain,” Tristian replied.
“You know I will,” said Haley.
After the two kissed, Tristian got into his truck and drove off. Haley got back into the van.
“Hals. are you okay?” Penny asked.
“Yeah I’m fine,” Haley said.
“You don’t feel sick anymore?” Adam asked.
“Didn’t I just say that I was fine?” Haley exclaimed.
“Yeah, sorry,” Adam said a little alarmed.
The Doright family left home and started their travels to Virginia. As soon as they crossed the border of South Carolina from Georgia they decided to stop to get some lunch.
“Who’s hungry?” Josie asked.
“I am,” Mark said.
“Me too,” Adam said.
“Me three,” Penny said.
“Haley are you hungry?” Josie asked.
“What?…Oh…yeah I’m hungry also,” Haley said.
“Haley what’s wrong,” Josie asked.
“Mom, Haley is just a little down from leaving Tristian back in Florida,” Penny said.
“Why?” Josie asked.
“Mom! Haley has never left someone behind before that she cares for,” Penny explained.
“Oh…” Josie stated.
“So kids where will it be? Kings…Friendlys…. Dennys…Wendys?” Mark asked.
At the same time the three of them said, “Dad definitely Wendys.”
“Mark I could have even answered that for you,” Josie said.
“I don’t understand,” Mark stated.
“Well, our three kids are obsessed with Wendys and I knew that. So I could have told you Wendys,” Josie explained.
“Oh, okay. I understand now,” Mark exclaimed.
“Okay one more question for the kids then,” Mark said. “Drive in or walk in?”
“Dad!” the kids yelled.
“Okay, okay, okay! Walk in it is,” Mark stated.
Mark pulled into the parking lot. Everyone got out of the van and walked inside.
“How may I help you?” the cashier asked.
“Yes, I would like….A double cheese burger and a large fry with a coke,” Josie said.
“Same for me thanks,” Mark said.
“Me two,” Adam said.
“Me three,” Penny said.
“Haley?” Mark said.
“Oh…I would like the same too please, but make it a diet coke?” Haley said.
Haley and Penny went to the bathroom while Mark, Josie and Adam took a seat.
“Haley has been acting very strange since she moved in, don’t you think Mark?” Josie asked.
“Yeah I do,” Mark said. “Oh and Adam if you say anything to one of the girls you lose everything.”
“Okay I won’t,” Adam said.
The two girls came back from the bathroom and sat down with the rest of the family. After everyone was done eating they got back on the road.
At eight pm. they just got into Virginia. They arrived at Kent’s beach house. Haley walked up to the door and rang the door bell.
“Yes can I help you?” Kent asked.
“It’s me,” Haley said. “It’s Haley.”
“Oh my…” Kent said. “You are so big. Come here and give your father a hug.”
Haley rapped her arms around him and squeezed. She said, “I finally feel complete inside.”
“Oh don’t worry my dear, so do I now,” Kent said. “So where is this family of yours?”
“Hey you guys you coming or not?” Haley shouted.
“Yeah totally!” Adam yelled.
Haley and Kent walked down to where the van was parked.
“I’m glad that the five of you could make it,” Kent said. “I’m so glad that I finally get to meet my only daughter.”
“Well, we are glad that Haley has finally found some real family,” Josie said.
After they grabbed everything from the van they went inside.
“Is anyone hungry?” Kent asked.
“I am,” Adam said.
Penny and Haley laughed.
“What?” Adam asked.
“You’re always hungry,” Penny and Haley said.
“Son don’t say anything, because you know the two of them are right,” Mark said.
“Okay, I will show everyone to there rooms now if that is okay,” Kent said.
“Yeah sure that’s fine,” Josie said. “We are all tired anyway.”
“Haley, you and….” Kent began to say.
“Penny,” Haley said helping him out.
“Thanks. The two of you can stay in this room,” Kent said.
“Okay,” Penny said.
“Mr. and Mrs.…” Kent started to say again.
“Doright, but please Mark and Josie,” Mark said.
“Okay. Mark and Josie, the two of you can stay in this room,” Kent said.
“Where do I sleep?” Adam asked.
“Well, …” Kent said.
“My name is Adam,” Adam stated.
“Well, Adam you stay in this room by yourself,” Kent said.
“Cool! I get a room to myself,” Adam exclaimed.
“Adam don’t carry on, or you will be on the first plane back to Florida,” Mark said.
“Don’t worry I won’t,” Adam said.
“Haley we can talk tomorrow, for now get your rest,” Kent said.
“Yeah sure dad,” Haley said.
“You called me dad,” Kent said.
“Is that okay? I mean I won’t if you don’t want me to,” Haley explained.
“I’m proud that you can call me dad,” Kent said. “But for now get your beauty sleep.”
“Okay good night,” Haley said.
The next morning Mark and Josie woke up around seven.
“I wonder if Kent is up?” Josie asked.
“Hunny, I think so. I can smell bacon,” Mark exclaimed.
The two of them got out of bed and headed for the kitchen. In their own astonishment they found all three children awake and eating breakfast.
“Good morning mom,” Haley said.
“Morning Haley. Did you sleep better last night?” Josie asked.
“Yeah I did,” Haley said.
“Did you call Tristian yet this morning?” Mark asked.
“Nope not yet,” Haley said. “Why?”
“Well, when you do, tell him that the Mrs. and me are sorry that he couldn’t come,” Mark said.
“What do you mean he couldn’t come?” Haley asked.
“Didn’t he tell you?” Josie asked in return.
“Tell me what?” Haley then in return asked.
“We asked Tristian if he would like to come with us on vacation and he said no,” Mark explained.
“But Tristian told me that the two of you said that he wasn’t invited,” Haley said.
“No we didn’t say that,” Josie said.
“Well, I wonder why he lied to me then” Haley said.
“Haley I don’t know, but I hope it’s nothing bad,” Josie said.
“Yeah, you and me both,” Haley stated.
“Sorry to erupt the small talk, but who’s Tristian?” Kent asked.
“Tristian is Haley’s boyfriend,” Adam explained.
“Oh,” Kent said.
After everyone was done eating they all went to the beach except Haley and Kent.
“So…” Haley began.
“So…” Kent said.
“So…um…” Haley began again.
“So Haley, how long have you been going out with Tristian?” Kent asked.
“It will be two months tomorrow,” Haley said.
“Congrats,” Kent said.
“Thanks, it’s the longest relationship that I’ve ever had, well, it’s the only one that I’ve had,” Haley explained.
“Two months is great for the first time,” Kent said. “You must be doing the right thing.”
“You think?” she asked.
“Yeah I’m sure of it,” he exclaimed.
“Yeah.”
“So how have you been?” he asked.
“Lets see…mom put me in a foster home because she didn’t want me. Then Ann the woman I was living with two months ago was beating me around. So then mom took Ann to court and got to take me in as her own child. Then Tristian asked me out. Well, then I went to talk to Ann last Wednesday because I knew she knew where you lived. So that’s how I got your number and address,” Haley explained.
“Is that your whole life story?” Kent asked in return.
“So far,” Haley said.
“Well, I’m not going to take anymore of your time. You came here for vacation, so go be with your friends,” Kent exclaimed.
Haley left the table and headed out to the beach to meet up with Adam and Penny.
“Hey you!” Penny said.
“Hey,” responded Haley.
“Haley can I tell you something, but you have to make sure that Adam doesn’t find out that I told you?” Penn asked.
“Yeah, sure…I promise,” Haley stated.
“Adam told me that he likes you,” Penny explained.
“Get out,” Haley screamed.
“Hey what’s going on?” Adam yelled.
“Oh nothing,” Haley said.
“You’re lying, now what?” Adam asked.
“Nothing, Penny just told me who she likes,” Haley explained.
“You mean she told you that she likes Tristian?” Adam asked.
“What!” Haley bellowed.
“I guess that’s not the person she told you,” Adam said.
Penny said, “ I didn’t know how to tell you about him. I didn’t want to make a move on him since I knew you liked him.”
“Least you kept some dignity,” Haley stated.
“Least I have some. That’s one more thing then you have,” Penny said.
“And what is that suppose to mean?” Haley asked.
“Oh nothing,” Penny answered.
“Okay whatever,” Haley stated. “I’ll see you when you come back to the house.”
“Where you going?” Penny asked.
“You don’t need to know everything that I do. Who do you think you are? My mother? Well, guess what…your not!” Haley yelled.
Haley walked back to the beach house where she found Kent sitting on the porch over looking the beach.
“Haley, was it just me or did you have a really nasty fight with your friend Penny?” Kent asked.
“Yeah I did, but I don’t want to talk about it,” Haley exclaimed.
“Alright I’m not going to talk you into explaining,” Kent said.
“It’s just that she likes my boyfriend and she thinks that I don’t have no dignity,” Haley explained.
“No dignity?” Kent asked.
“I don’t even know what she was talking about,” Haley exclaimed.
“Well I wish I could help you to understand, but I don’t know that much about you,” Kent explained.
“That’s okay. I will find my own ways to deal,” Haley said. “But for right now I’m going to call Tristian and see what’s going on with him.”
Haley walked into the house and into her room. She sat on her bed and started to dill Tristian’s cell number.
“Hey baby,” Tristian said.
“Hey hunni,” Haley replied.
“Baby what’s wrong?” Tristian asked.
“I just wanted to see what you was up to,” Haley explained.
“Well, I’m hanging with the guys,” Tristian stated.
“Oh…cool,” Haley said.
“Sweetie are you sure everything is fine,” Tristian asked again.
“No I’m not fine,” Haley answered.
“Well, what’s wrong,” Tristian asked.
“Penny likes you and Adam likes me. Also Penny thinks that I don’t have any dignity,” Haley explained.
“Wait….What? And she says you don’t have no dignity?” Tristian said astonished.
“Yeah, Adam likes me and yes she said that,” Haley explained. “But I don’t know what she means.”
“Neither do I. I think you have a lot of dignity,” Tristian said.
“Thanks hun,” Haley said. “I’m going to go I’m going to take a little nap.”
“Okay sweet dreams,” Tristian said. “Bye.”
“ I’ll call you when we leave to come home in two days,” Haley said. “Bye.”
They got off the phone with each other.
“So where was I?” Tristian asked.
“Wait…Tristian who was that?” Bianca, the new girl in his life asked.
“It was my girlfriend,” Tristian replied.
“Oh,” Bianca said. “So where was you?”
Tristian went back to his business with Bianca. Tristian didn’t even think how Haley would feel if she would find out.
After Bianca and Tristian finished there business Tristian called Adam on his cell.
“Hey Tristian what’s going on? Couldn’t you reach Haley on her cell?” Adam asked.
“No I wanted to talk to you,” Tristian said.
“Okay about what?” Adam asked.
“What in the hell do you think you will get from Haley?” Tristian screamed.
“Tristian what are you talking about?” Adam asked.
“You like Haley!” Tristian yelled.
“Tristian, how do you know that?” Adam asked.
“Well, like four hours ago I talked to Haley and she told me,” Tristian explained.
“I wonder how she found out?” Adam asked. “Wait…never mind I know who told her! Penny told her.”
“Adam you have no chance in hell with her,” Tristian stated.
“Tristian why do you think you are so better then everyone else?” Adam asked.
“I don’t think that,” Tristian stated.
“The hell you don’t,” Adam yelled.
“I’m just saying that I know what Haley likes and you’re not her type,” Tristian explained.
“Whatever,” Adam said.
“Just don’t put any moves on her. I will find out if you do,” Tristian exclaimed.
“Only if she wants you too,” Adam shouted.
“Whatever, you just better not,” Tristian explained. “I got to go, bye.”
“Whatever, bye,” Adam replied.
The next day the Doright family and Mr. Limp went to Bush Gardens. Haley went with Mr. Limp because of the fact that she wasn’t talking to Adam or Penny.
“Haley, not to be judgmental or anything, but you and Penny should really work this out between the two of you,” Kent said while driving.
“I know. I am going to talk to her when we get to Bush Gardens,” Haley stated.
“Great,” Kent exclaimed.
After they all got their wrist bands everyone went their separate ways, except Haley asked to speak with Penny.
“Penny I’m sorry,” Haley exclaimed.
“It’s alright,” Penny said. “I would have gotten up set too if someone told me that they had a crush on my boyfriend.”
“You would have?” Haley asked.
“Yeah, because if you actually think about it, a boyfriend is the only thing that you can call yours unless one is cheating on the other,” Penny explained.
“Yeah I see your point,” Haley said.
The two girls gave each other a hug. When they start to walk to a ride they both ran into Adam.
“Hey Adam what’s going on?” Penny asked.
“Oh nothing except that Tristian knows that I like Haley,” Adam exclaimed.
“What!” Penny screamed. “How did he find out?”
“Umm…I kind of told him when I called him yesterday,” Haley answered.
“But why?” Penny asked. “I told you not to tell anyone.”
“No you said to make sure Adam didn’t find out,” Haley explained. “I can’t help it if Tristian called Adam and told him. I don’t control Tristian’s brain, now do I.”
“Oh it’s okay,” Penny said. “Adam would have found out sooner or later anyhow.”
After the three of them were done discussing thinks between each other Adam left the two girls to head to the ride.
When twelve o’clock came around everyone met up to get something to eat.
“So Haley did you sort out everything between you and Penny?” Kent asked.
“Yeah I sure did,” Haley said.
“And?” Kent said asking for more details.
“Everything is better between us,” Haley said. “Penny and I are like sisters and sisters argue even over men.”
“Yes that’s true,” Kent said. “I had two sisters once. Actually they were twins. They always argued over guys, especially the ones that couldn’t tell them apart.”
“What happened to them?” Haley asked.
“They past away when they were seventeen. They were drunk. On their way home they ran a stop light and got plowed over by a truck,” Kent explained.
“Oh, I’m so sorry,” Haley said.
“It’s okay,” Kent stated. “I was only about five at the time.”
“Yeah,” she said.
After everyone was done eating they all went back to riding rides and going to gift shops. Haley and Penny went to this one Irish Gift Shop that had dragons and wizards.
“Haley why are we coming in here for?” Penny asked.
“Well, Tristian likes dragons,” Haley explained.
“Oh, okay,” Penny said.
Haley grabbed a dragon. “I’m going to get him this one.”
“Okay pay for it so we can go,” Penny exclaimed.
“Is everything okay,” Haley asked.
“Yeah, its just that mom told me that we will be leaving soon,” Penny explained. “We need to get back to Mr. Limps place and pack our things. Also, to load them into the van.”
“Oh, okay,” Haley said.
After they walked out of the shop Haley’s cell rang.
“Hey mom,” Haley said.
“You girls meet us at the vehicles,” Josie said.
“Okay, see you there, uh huh, bye” Haley said.
“Who was that?” Penny asked.
“It was your mother telling us that we need to head for the vehicles,” Haley explained.
After everyone met at the vehicles they left to go back to the beach house. Haley wasn’t feeling well on the ride back so she took a nap.
When they arrived back at the beach house the Doright family went to their rooms and started to pack.
The next day the Doright family ate breakfast at the beach house. After they ate they were ready to head on home.
“Haley, I’m glad that you came to visit,” Kent said.
“I am too,” Haley replied.
“If you ever need a place to stay or even if you just want to visit you can, you are more then welcome here,” Kent stated.
“Thanks dad,” Haley said.
“I’m going to miss you,” Kent said.
“I’m going to miss you too,” Haley said.
After everyone said their goodbyes the Doright family got on the road and headed home. Haley forgot to call Tristian before she left.
When they arrived home they got something to eat. Haley walked down stairs to go to bed when she found Tristian sleeping in her bed. She slipped in bed and whispered in his ear, “baby I’m home.”
Tristian rolls over on top of her and kisses her and says, “I’ve missed you.”
The two start kissing again. They start taking off each others clothes. They start kissing some more.
The next morning Tristian and Haley woke up early. They got breakfast and headed to the movies to see ‘Troy.’ In the car Haley told Tristian that she had something for him.
“Haley I’m so glad you are back,” Tristian said.
“I am too! I missed you so much,” Haley replied.
Tristian pulled into a parking space at the theater. They got out of the car and walked in to get the tickets. Haley forgot her purse.
“Tristian I forgot my purse,” Haley said.
“I’ll go get it,” Tristian responded.
“No, that’s okay. I will go get it, you just get the tickets and I will meet you in there,” Haley said.
“Okay,” Tristian said.
Haley walked out of the building and walked to the car. She opened the passenger door to grab her purse. When she reached into the back of the car she found a pair of thongs beside her purse. She grabbed them and put them in her purse. She headed back into the theater. When she got in there Tristian had gotten her milk duds, which happened to be her favorite.
After the movie was over they drove home. During their drive home it was complete silence in the car.
When they pulled into the parking lot Haley got out of the car and headed into the house. She sat down at the table and got something to eat. After she ate she asked Penny to go down stairs with her to her room so they could talk.
“What do you want to talk about?” Penny asked.
“Look what I found in the back seat of my car,” Haley shouted.
“Haley not so loud, do you want Tristian to here,” Penny said.
“I hope the bastard here’s me,” Haley pointed out.
“Well, aren’t they yours?” Penny asked.
“No!” Haley stated. “I don’t wear strawberry short cake thongs.”
“Okay,” Penny said.
Tristian walked down stairs and walked into Haley’s room.
“Hals. what’s all this shouting about?” Tristian asked.
“Penny please leave,” Haley said. “I need to talk to Tristian alone. Don‘t take it offensively”
“I understand,” Penny stated. Penny left the room.
“Tristian would you like to explain why I found these thongs on the back seat of car?” Haley asked.
“Don’t ask me how they got there,” Tristian said.
“Well, they’re not mine,” Haley stated.
“I don’t know Haley. They might be one of the guys’ girlfriends,” Tristian tried to explain.
“Tristian don’t lie to me,” Haley said. “Who is she?”
“Fine you want the true?” Tristian asked.
“Yes, that’s all that I’ve ever wanted from you,” Haley explained. “So you going to tell me what her name is, or what?”
“Her name is Bianca,” Tristian said.
“Yeah, and how many times have you been with her?” Haley asked.
“Once,” Tristian stated.
“Are you lying?” Haley asked.
“No, I swear. I’ve only been with her once,” Tristian said.
“Well, whatever it doesn’t matter no more,” Haley said.
“What do you mean?” Tristian asked. “Don’t you care?”
“Not anymore since you’re not my boyfriend,” Haley explained.
“What!” Tristian shouted.
“You heard me,” Haley said.
“But Haley I’m sorry,” Tristian said. “I just…”
“Tristian shove it! Tell it to someone who cares,” Haley said.
Haley went to walk out of the door.
“Haley where are you going?” Tristian asked.
“Away,” Haley said.
Haley walked up stairs to where Mark and Josie was sitting.
“Mom, dad, I need to talk to you,” Haley said.
“Okay, sure, what about?” Mark asked.
“I’m going to stay with my dad in Virginia for awhile,” Haley said. “I will come back I just need to stay with him for awhile that’s all.”
“Why? What’s wrong?” Josie asked.
“Just something that happened with Tristian,” Haley said. “I’ll call you when I get to his place.”
Haley started to walked down the steps to the basement.
“Haley…” Mark said.
“Bye,” Haley said. “I love you both.”
Haley walked into her room and started to pack her things. After she was done she walked out to her car.
“Haley don’t leave on my account,” Tristian said.
“Too late,” Haley said. “My body may be here, but my heart is with my dad in Virginia.”
“Fine whatever! Have a nice life,” Tristian yelled while Haley drove off.
When Haley got onto the highway she called her father.
“Hello?” Kent asked.
“Hey dad it’s Haley,” Haley said.
“Hi Haley,” Kent said. “What are you up to?”
“Well, I’m on the road driving to Virginia,” Haley said.
“You are?” Kent said.
“Yeah,” Haley said while crying.
“What’s wrong sweetie?” Kent asked.
“Tristian cheated on me,” Haley said. “Is it okay if I stay with you awhile?”
“Yes of course,” Kent replied.
“Thanks,” Haley said. “I’m sorry I didn’t call when I got home last night. I was tired.”
“That’s okay,” Kent said.
“Well, daddy I will talk to you when I get there,” Haley said.
“Okay,” Kent said. “I’ll talk to you later, bye.”
“Bye,” Haley said. Haley got off her cell phone.
Haley got to the beach house around midnight. She pulled into the drive way. Kent came out of the house to help her with her things.
“Haley come here,” Kent said.
Haley went up to her dad and gave him a hug.
“Sweetie, just go in side and go to sleep I will grab your things. After Kent got Haley’s things he went into her room and sat the stuff down on the floor. He gave her a kiss on the cheek and pulled the covers up.
The next morning Kent made breakfast gravy and pancakes. He was hoping that Haley was hungry from driving all that way. Haley woke up and walked out into the kitchen. She sat down at the table and poured herself some orange juice.
“Good morning Haley,” Kent said.
“Good morning daddy,” Haley replied.
Right when Haley was about to tell Kent how she liked her eggs she fell off her chair.
“Haley, sweetie are you okay?” Kent asked, but there was no answer.
Kent grabbed Haley off the ground and put her in his vehicle. He drove her to the hospital.
“Nurse, I need help,” Kent said. “My daughter fainted at the house and she hasn’t waken up yet.”
The nurse got a doctor. The doctor took her into a room and examined her. He ran a bunch of tests on her.
After awhile the doctor came out of Haley’s room to talk to Kent.
“Mr. Limp?” the doctor asked.
“Yes, I’m here,” Kent replied.
“I need to talk to you about your daughter,” the doctor said.
“Yes, how is she?” Kent asked.
“She’s fine for now,” the doctor said.
“What do you mean for now?” Kent asked.
“Mr. Limp, your daughter has cancer,” the doctor replied.
“But don’t you have treatments for it?” Kent asked.
“Yes,” the doctor said. “But…”
“Don’t give me any buts,” Kent said.
“Mr. Limp we can’t treat your daughter because she is pregnant,” the doctor said.
“She’s pregnant?” Kent asked.
“Yes, and as much as I would like to treat her we can’t until she has the baby,” the doctor said.
“How far is she?” Kent asked.
“Around two months,” the doctor stated.
“Is my daughter awake? Can I talk to her?” Kent asked.
“Yes you may,” the doctor said. “Just don’t tire her out.”
“Okay,” Kent said.
Kent went into Haley’s room and sat on the side of the bed.
“Daddy, I’m so sorry,” Haley said.
“Shh…it’s okay,” Kent answered.
“Daddy what’s going to happen to my baby?” Haley asked.
“The baby is going to be fine sweetie,” Kent replied.
“You sure?” Haley asked again.
“Yes I’m sure,” Kent said. “But for now just rest.”
Haley fell asleep. Kent went through her purse to find her cell phone to get the Doright’s phone number. Kent called the Doright’s.
“Haley?” Josie said.
“No, this is Kent,” Kent said.
“Where’s Haley?” Josie asked.
“She’s in the hospital,” Kent answered.
“Is she okay?” Josie asked.
“For now,” he said.
“For now? I don’t understand,” she said.
“Haley has cancer,” he said.
“But can’t they treat her?” she asked.
“Not yet,” he said.
“And why not?” she asked.
“Because Haley is pregnant,” he answered.
“How far along is she?” she asked.
“Two months,” she said.
“That means…” she began to say.
“That means it’s Tristian’s baby as well,” he said.
“Yes,” she said. “I guess I will tell the family.”
“You do that,” Kent said. “I will bring Haley back to you after she gets released from the hospital.”
“Okay,” she said. “Bye.”
“Bye,” he said.
After Josie hung up with Kent she called a family meeting with Tristian being apart of it.
“Mr. Limp called me today,” Josie said.
“What did he have to say about Haley?” Tristian asked.
“Well,…” Josie began to say.
“Well, what mom?” Penny asked.
“Haley’s in the hospital,” Josie said.
“What? Why?” Tristian asked.
“Haley has cancer,” answered Josie.
“Well, they are going to treat her right?” Tristian asked again.
“Tristian that is such a stupid question to ask, right mom?” Adam asked.
“Well, they’re not going to treat her,” Josie answered.
“Why not?” Mark asked.
“Because Haley’s pregnant,” Josie muttered.
“What did you say Mrs. D?” Tristian asked.
“Tristian you’re going to be a daddy,” Josie said.
“Oh my,” Tristian said.
“My words exactly,” Josie said.
“How far along is she?” Penny asked.
“Two months,” Josie replied.
“That means it was the first time that we did it,” Tristian said.
“Well, I guess so Tristian since it just hit two months yesterday,” Josie yelled.
“Mrs. D don’t yell at me, it’s not like I meant to do it,” Tristian said.
“Yes, but it did happen,” Josie said. “And now I’m sorry to say, but there is no hope for Haley.”
“NO!” Tristian screamed.
Penny sat beside Tristian and raped her arms around him.
“Shh…Tristian, mom isn’t exactly sure about that,” Penny said.
“Really?” Tristian asked.
“Yes really,” Josie said.
“When am I going to see her again?” Tristian asked.
“Kent is going to bring Haley back to us when she gets release from the hospital there.” Josie said.
Mean while, Kent was back at his place packing Haley’s things to go to the hospital to pick her up and head to Florida.
“Daddy why do I have to go back there?” Haley asked.
“Sweetie you have family there that loves you and a guy that’s sorry for what he did. I bet Tristian wants to help raise the baby,” Kent said.
“But you’re family,” Haley said.
“Yes, but not like them,” Kent replied.
“Okay, I will go back,” Haley said.
Haley got released because there was nothing that the doctors could do for until she had the baby. Haley got into her car with Kent and drove off to head back to Florida.
Haley slept the whole time that Kent was driving. Kent pulled into the Doright’s drive in. Everyone came out of the house.
Tristian grabbed Haley’s bags and put them done in her room. Haley just went down stairs and went to bed. Mark drove Kent to the airport so he could fly back home to Virginia.
The next day Haley and Tristian talked about their relationship. Tristian had said that he made a really huge mistake with sleeping with Bianca and that he hoped that she could forgive him.
Seven months past to January. On January 29th Haley delivered a beautiful baby boy. She named him Cole Michael.
After baby Cole was born the doctors started to treat Haley’s cancer. Kent came into town after Cole was born he wanted to stay with Haley for what he thought would be her last days.
“Daddy, would you do something for me?” Haley asked.
“Yeah, sure,” Kent answered.
“Get a piece of paper and write what I say down,” Haley said.
“Okay, let me go get a piece,” Kent said. After Kent got the piece of paper she began….
She died two days later. Kent gave the letter to Tristian.

Tristian finally got to the last page of Haley’s journal and she writes…
“When I leave this world I hope people can look back and say…that I was truly blessed. I never thought so, but I was. I found my dear Tristian and my son Cole. I write to my son on this slip of paper…”

When you get to read this I pray that you will have an understanding of me. I love you so much, and if I had a choice to go to heaven or stay here on Earth. I would have chose to stay. I pray that you grow up to be a good, hearted man who will get to live for many years. I love you my dearest son.

Almost a year has past and yet everyone still morns for Haley. Tristian frequently tells Cole about his mother and how her life just seemed to happen like she wished upon a star one night.
The next day everyone woke up at 5:00 am.
“Okay, is everyone ready to go?” Mark asked.
“Wait..” Haley said. She got out of the car to say goodbye to Tristian.
“Tristian, I’m sorry that you can’t come,” Haley said.
“It’s okay. Just have fun and keep me on the brain,” Tristian replied.
“You know I will,” said Haley.
After the two kissed, Tristian got into his truck and drove off. Haley got back into the van.
“Hals. are you okay?” Penny asked.
“Yeah I’m fine,” Haley said.
“You don’t feel sick anymore?” Adam asked.
“Didn’t I just say that I was fine?” Haley exclaimed.
“Yeah, sorry,” Adam said a little alarmed.
The Doright family left home and started their travels to Virginia. As soon as they crossed the border of South Carolina from Georgia they decided to stop to get some lunch.
“Who’s hungry?” Josie asked.
“I am,” Mark said.
“Me too,” Adam said.
“Me three,” Penny said.
“Haley are you hungry?” Josie asked.
“What?…Oh…yeah I’m hungry also,” Haley said.
“Haley what’s wrong,” Josie asked.
“Mom, Haley is just a little down from leaving Tristian back in Florida,” Penny said.
“Why?” Josie asked.
“Mom! Haley has never left someone behind before that she cares for,” Penny explained.
“Oh…” Josie stated.
“So kids where will it be? Kings…Friendlys…. Dennys…Wendys?” Mark asked.
At the same time the three of them said, “Dad definitely Wendys.”
“Mark I could have even answered that for you,” Josie said.
“I don’t understand,” Mark stated.
“Well, our three kids are obsessed with Wendys and I knew that. So I could have told you Wendys,” Josie explained.
“Oh, okay. I understand now,” Mark exclaimed.
“Okay one more question for the kids then,” Mark said. “Drive in or walk in?”
“Dad!” the kids yelled.
“Okay, okay, okay! Walk in it is,” Mark stated.
Mark pulled into the parking lot. Everyone got out of the van and walked inside.
“How may I help you?” the cashier asked.
“Yes, I would like….A double cheese burger and a large fry with a coke,” Josie said.
“Same for me thanks,” Mark said.
“Me two,” Adam said.
“Me three,” Penny said.
“Haley?” Mark said.
“Oh…I would like the same too please, but make it a diet coke?” Haley said.
Haley and Penny went to the bathroom while Mark, Josie and Adam took a seat.
“Haley has been acting very strange since she moved in, don’t you think Mark?” Josie asked.
“Yeah I do,” Mark said. “Oh and Adam if you say anything to one of the girls you lose everything.”
“Okay I won’t,” Adam said.
The two girls came back from the bathroom and sat down with the rest of the family. After everyone was done eating they got back on the road.
At eight pm. they just got into Virginia. They arrived at Kent’s beach house. Haley walked up to the door and rang the door bell.
“Yes can I help you?” Kent asked.
“It’s me,” Haley said. “It’s Haley.”
“Oh my…” Kent said. “You are so big. Come here and give your father a hug.”
Haley rapped her arms around him and squeezed. She said, “I finally feel complete inside.”
“Oh don’t worry my dear, so do I now,” Kent said. “So where is this family of yours?”
“Hey you guys you coming or not?” Haley shouted.
“Yeah totally!” Adam yelled.
Haley and Kent walked down to where the van was parked.
“I’m glad that the five of you could make it,” Kent said. “I’m so glad that I finally get to meet my only daughter.”
“Well, we are glad that Haley has finally found some real family,” Josie said.
After they grabbed everything from the van they went inside.
“Is anyone hungry?” Kent asked.
“I am,” Adam said.
Penny and Haley laughed.
“What?” Adam asked.
“You’re always hungry,” Penny and Haley said.
“Son don’t say anything, because you know the two of them are right,” Mark said.
“Okay, I will show everyone to there rooms now if that is okay,” Kent said.
“Yeah sure that’s fine,” Josie said. “We are all tired anyway.”
“Haley, you and….” Kent began to say.
“Penny,” Haley said helping him out.
“Thanks. The two of you can stay in this room,” Kent said.
“Okay,” Penny said.
“Mr. and Mrs.…” Kent started to say again.
“Doright, but please Mark and Josie,” Mark said.
“Okay. Mark and Josie, the two of you can stay in this room,” Kent said.
“Where do I sleep?” Adam asked.
“Well, …” Kent said.
“My name is Adam,” Adam stated.
“Well, Adam you stay in this room by yourself,” Kent said.
“Cool! I get a room to myself,” Adam exclaimed.
“Adam don’t carry on, or you will be on the first plane back to Florida,” Mark said.
“Don’t worry I won’t,” Adam said.
“Haley we can talk tomorrow, for now get your rest,” Kent said.
“Yeah sure dad,” Haley said.
“You called me dad,” Kent said.
“Is that okay? I mean I won’t if you don’t want me to,” Haley explained.
“I’m proud that you can call me dad,” Kent said. “But for now get your beauty sleep.”
“Okay good night,” Haley said.
The next morning Mark and Josie woke up around seven.
“I wonder if Kent is up?” Josie asked.
“Hunny, I think so. I can smell bacon,” Mark exclaimed.
The two of them got out of bed and headed for the kitchen. In their own astonishment they found all three children awake and eating breakfast.
“Good morning mom,” Haley said.
“Morning Haley. Did you sleep better last night?” Josie asked.
“Yeah I did,” Haley said.
“Did you call Tristian yet this morning?” Mark asked.
“Nope not yet,” Haley said. “Why?”
“Well, when you do, tell him that the Mrs. and me are sorry that he couldn’t come,” Mark said.
“What do you mean he couldn’t come?” Haley asked.
“Didn’t he tell you?” Josie asked in return.
“Tell me what?” Haley then in return asked.
“We asked Tristian if he would like to come with us on vacation and he said no,” Mark explained.
“But Tristian told me that the two of you said that he wasn’t invited,” Haley said.
“No we didn’t say that,” Josie said.
“Well, I wonder why he lied to me then” Haley said.
“Haley I don’t know, but I hope it’s nothing bad,” Josie said.
“Yeah, you and me both,” Haley stated.
“Sorry to erupt the small talk, but who’s Tristian?” Kent asked.
“Tristian is Haley’s boyfriend,” Adam explained.
“Oh,” Kent said.
After everyone was done eating they all went to the beach except Haley and Kent.
“So…” Haley began.
“So…” Kent said.
“So…um…” Haley began again.
“So Haley, how long have you been going out with Tristian?” Kent asked.
“It will be two months tomorrow,” Haley said.
“Congrats,” Kent said.
“Thanks, it’s the longest relationship that I’ve ever had, well, it’s the only one that I’ve had,” Haley explained.
“Two months is great for the first time,” Kent said. “You must be doing the right thing.”
“You think?” she asked.
“Yeah I’m sure of it,” he exclaimed.
“Yeah.”
“So how have you been?” he asked.
“Lets see…mom put me in a foster home because she didn’t want me. Then Ann the woman I was living with two months ago was beating me around. So then mom took Ann to court and got to take me in as her own child. Then Tristian asked me out. Well, then I went to talk to Ann last Wednesday because I knew she knew where you lived. So that’s how I got your number and address,” Haley explained.
“Is that your whole life story?” Kent asked in return.
“So far,” Haley said.
“Well, I’m not going to take anymore of your time. You came here for vacation, so go be with your friends,” Kent exclaimed.
Haley left the table and headed out to the beach to meet up with Adam and Penny.
“Hey you!” Penny said.
“Hey,” responded Haley.
“Haley can I tell you something, but you have to make sure that Adam doesn’t find out that I told you?” Penn asked.
“Yeah, sure…I promise,” Haley stated.
“Adam told me that he likes you,” Penny explained.
“Get out,” Haley screamed.
“Hey what’s going on?” Adam yelled.
“Oh nothing,” Haley said.
“You’re lying, now what?” Adam asked.
“Nothing, Penny just told me who she likes,” Haley explained.
“You mean she told you that she likes Tristian?” Adam asked.
“What!” Haley bellowed.
“I guess that’s not the person she told you,” Adam said.
Penny said, “ I didn’t know how to tell you about him. I didn’t want to make a move on him since I knew you liked him.”
“Least you kept some dignity,” Haley stated.
“Least I have some. That’s one more thing then you have,” Penny said.
“And what is that suppose to mean?” Haley asked.
“Oh nothing,” Penny answered.
“Okay whatever,” Haley stated. “I’ll see you when you come back to the house.”
“Where you going?” Penny asked.
“You don’t need to know everything that I do. Who do you think you are? My mother? Well, guess what…your not!” Haley yelled.
Haley walked back to the beach house where she found Kent sitting on the porch over looking the beach.
“Haley, was it just me or did you have a really nasty fight with your friend Penny?” Kent asked.
“Yeah I did, but I don’t want to talk about it,” Haley exclaimed.
“Alright I’m not going to talk you into explaining,” Kent said.
“It’s just that she likes my boyfriend and she thinks that I don’t have no dignity,” Haley explained.
“No dignity?” Kent asked.
“I don’t even know what she was talking about,” Haley exclaimed.
“Well I wish I could help you to understand, but I don’t know that much about you,” Kent explained.
“That’s okay. I will find my own ways to deal,” Haley said. “But for right now I’m going to call Tristian and see what’s going on with him.”
Haley walked into the house and into her room. She sat on her bed and started to dill Tristian’s cell number.
“Hey baby,” Tristian said.
“Hey hunni,” Haley replied.
“Baby what’s wrong?” Tristian asked.
“I just wanted to see what you was up to,” Haley explained.
“Well, I’m hanging with the guys,” Tristian stated.
“Oh…cool,” Haley said.
“Sweetie are you sure everything is fine,” Tristian asked again.
“No I’m not fine,” Haley answered.
“Well, what’s wrong,” Tristian asked.
“Penny likes you and Adam likes me. Also Penny thinks that I don’t have any dignity,” Haley explained.
“Wait….What? And she says you don’t have no dignity?” Tristian said astonished.
“Yeah, Adam likes me and yes she said that,” Haley explained. “But I don’t know what she means.”
“Neither do I. I think you have a lot of dignity,” Tristian said.
“Thanks hun,” Haley said. “I’m going to go I’m going to take a little nap.”
“Okay sweet dreams,” Tristian said. “Bye.”
“ I’ll call you when we leave to come home in two days,” Haley said. “Bye.”
They got off the phone with each other.
“So where was I?” Tristian asked.
“Wait…Tristian who was that?” Bianca, the new girl in his life asked.
“It was my girlfriend,” Tristian replied.
“Oh,” Bianca said. “So where was you?”
Tristian went back to his business with Bianca. Tristian didn’t even think how Haley would feel if she would find out.
After Bianca and Tristian finished there business Tristian called Adam on his cell.
“Hey Tristian what’s going on? Couldn’t you reach Haley on her cell?” Adam asked.
“No I wanted to talk to you,” Tristian said.
“Okay about what?” Adam asked.
“What in the hell do you think you will get from Haley?” Tristian screamed.
“Tristian what are you talking about?” Adam asked.
“You like Haley!” Tristian yelled.
“Tristian, how do you know that?” Adam asked.
“Well, like four hours ago I talked to Haley and she told me,” Tristian explained.
“I wonder how she found out?” Adam asked. “Wait…never mind I know who told her! Penny told her.”
“Adam you have no chance in hell with her,” Tristian stated.
“Tristian why do you think you are so better then everyone else?” Adam asked.
“I don’t think that,” Tristian stated.
“The hell you don’t,” Adam yelled.
“I’m just saying that I know what Haley likes and you’re not her type,” Tristian explained.
“Whatever,” Adam said.
“Just don’t put any moves on her. I will find out if you do,” Tristian exclaimed.
“Only if she wants you too,” Adam shouted.
“Whatever, you just better not,” Tristian explained. “I got to go, bye.”
“Whatever, bye,” Adam replied.
The next day the Doright family and Mr. Limp went to Bush Gardens. Haley went with Mr. Limp because of the fact that she wasn’t talking to Adam or Penny.
“Haley, not to be judgmental or anything, but you and Penny should really work this out between the two of you,” Kent said while driving.
“I know. I am going to talk to her when we get to Bush Gardens,” Haley stated.
“Great,” Kent exclaimed.
After they all got their wrist bands everyone went their separate ways, except Haley asked to speak with Penny.
“Penny I’m sorry,” Haley exclaimed.
“It’s alright,” Penny said. “I would have gotten up set too if someone told me that they had a crush on my boyfriend.”
“You would have?” Haley asked.
“Yeah, because if you actually think about it, a boyfriend is the only thing that you can call yours unless one is cheating on the other,” Penny explained.
“Yeah I see your point,” Haley said.
The two girls gave each other a hug. When they start to walk to a ride they both ran into Adam.
“Hey Adam what’s going on?” Penny asked.
“Oh nothing except that Tristian knows that I like Haley,” Adam exclaimed.
“What!” Penny screamed. “How did he find out?”
“Umm…I kind of told him when I called him yesterday,” Haley answered.
“But why?” Penny asked. “I told you not to tell anyone.”
“No you said to make sure Adam didn’t find out,” Haley explained. “I can’t help it if Tristian called Adam and told him. I don’t control Tristian’s brain, now do I.”
“Oh it’s okay,” Penny said. “Adam would have found out sooner or later anyhow.”
After the three of them were done discussing thinks between each other Adam left the two girls to head to the ride.
When twelve o’clock came around everyone met up to get something to eat.
“So Haley did you sort out everything between you and Penny?” Kent asked.
“Yeah I sure did,” Haley said.
“And?” Kent said asking for more details.
“Everything is better between us,” Haley said. “Penny and I are like sisters and sisters argue even over men.”
“Yes that’s true,” Kent said. “I had two sisters once. Actually they were twins. They always argued over guys, especially the ones that couldn’t tell them apart.”
“What happened to them?” Haley asked.
“They past away when they were seventeen. They were drunk. On their way home they ran a stop light and got plowed over by a truck,” Kent explained.
“Oh, I’m so sorry,” Haley said.
“It’s okay,” Kent stated. “I was only about five at the time.”
“Yeah,” she said.
After everyone was done eating they all went back to riding rides and going to gift shops. Haley and Penny went to this one Irish Gift Shop that had dragons and wizards.
“Haley why are we coming in here for?” Penny asked.
“Well, Tristian likes dragons,” Haley explained.
“Oh, okay,” Penny said.
Haley grabbed a dragon. “I’m going to get him this one.”
“Okay pay for it so we can go,” Penny exclaimed.
“Is everything okay,” Haley asked.
“Yeah, its just that mom told me that we will be leaving soon,” Penny explained. “We need to get back to Mr. Limps place and pack our things. Also, to load them into the van.”
“Oh, okay,” Haley said.
After they walked out of the shop Haley’s cell rang.
“Hey mom,” Haley said.
“You girls meet us at the vehicles,” Josie said.
“Okay, see you there, uh huh, bye” Haley said.
“Who was that?” Penny asked.
“It was your mother telling us that we need to head for the vehicles,” Haley explained.
After everyone met at the vehicles they left to go back to the beach house. Haley wasn’t feeling well on the ride back so she took a nap.
When they arrived back at the beach house the Doright family went to their rooms and started to pack.
The next day the Doright family ate breakfast at the beach house. After they ate they were ready to head on home.
“Haley, I’m glad that you came to visit,” Kent said.
“I am too,” Haley replied.
“If you ever need a place to stay or even if you just want to visit you can, you are more then welcome here,” Kent stated.
“Thanks dad,” Haley said.
“I’m going to miss you,” Kent said.
“I’m going to miss you too,” Haley said.
After everyone said their goodbyes the Doright family got on the road and headed home. Haley forgot to call Tristian before she left.
When they arrived home they got something to eat. Haley walked down stairs to go to bed when she found Tristian sleeping in her bed. She slipped in bed and whispered in his ear, “baby I’m home.”
Tristian rolls over on top of her and kisses her and says, “I’ve missed you.”
The two start kissing again. They start taking off each others clothes. They start kissing some more.
The next morning Tristian and Haley woke up early. They got breakfast and headed to the movies to see ‘Troy.’ In the car Haley told Tristian that she had something for him.
“Haley I’m so glad you are back,” Tristian said.
“I am too! I missed you so much,” Haley replied.
Tristian pulled into a parking space at the theater. They got out of the car and walked in to get the tickets. Haley forgot her purse.
“Tristian I forgot my purse,” Haley said.
“I’ll go get it,” Tristian responded.
“No, that’s okay. I will go get it, you just get the tickets and I will meet you in there,” Haley said.
“Okay,” Tristian said.
Haley walked out of the building and walked to the car. She opened the passenger door to grab her purse. When she reached into the back of the car she found a pair of thongs beside her purse. She grabbed them and put them in her purse. She headed back into the theater. When she got in there Tristian had gotten her milk duds, which happened to be her favorite.
After the movie was over they drove home. During their drive home it was complete silence in the car.
When they pulled into the parking lot Haley got out of the car and headed into the house. She sat down at the table and got something to eat. After she ate she asked Penny to go down stairs with her to her room so they could talk.
“What do you want to talk about?” Penny asked.
“Look what I found in the back seat of my car,” Haley shouted.
“Haley not so loud, do you want Tristian to here,” Penny said.
“I hope the bastard here’s me,” Haley pointed out.
“Well, aren’t they yours?” Penny asked.
“No!” Haley stated. “I don’t wear strawberry short cake thongs.”
“Okay,” Penny said.
Tristian walked down stairs and walked into Haley’s room.
“Hals. what’s all this shouting about?” Tristian asked.
“Penny please leave,” Haley said. “I need to talk to Tristian alone. Don‘t take it offensively”
“I understand,” Penny stated. Penny left the room.
“Tristian would you like to explain why I found these thongs on the back seat of car?” Haley asked.
“Don’t ask me how they got there,” Tristian said.
“Well, they’re not mine,” Haley stated.
“I don’t know Haley. They might be one of the guys’ girlfriends,” Tristian tried to explain.
“Tristian don’t lie to me,” Haley said. “Who is she?”
“Fine you want the true?” Tristian asked.
“Yes, that’s all that I’ve ever wanted from you,” Haley explained. “So you going to tell me what her name is, or what?”
“Her name is Bianca,” Tristian said.
“Yeah, and how many times have you been with her?” Haley asked.
“Once,” Tristian stated.
“Are you lying?” Haley asked.
“No, I swear. I’ve only been with her once,” Tristian said.
“Well, whatever it doesn’t matter no more,” Haley said.
“What do you mean?” Tristian asked. “Don’t you care?”
“Not anymore since you’re not my boyfriend,” Haley explained.
“What!” Tristian shouted.
“You heard me,” Haley said.
“But Haley I’m sorry,” Tristian said. “I just…”
“Tristian shove it! Tell it to someone who cares,” Haley said.
Haley went to walk out of the door.
“Haley where are you going?” Tristian asked.
“Away,” Haley said.
Haley walked up stairs to where Mark and Josie was sitting.
“Mom, dad, I need to talk to you,” Haley said.
“Okay, sure, what about?” Mark asked.
“I’m going to stay with my dad in Virginia for awhile,” Haley said. “I will come back I just need to stay with him for awhile that’s all.”
“Why? What’s wrong?” Josie asked.
“Just something that happened with Tristian,” Haley said. “I’ll call you when I get to his place.”
Haley started to walked down the steps to the basement.
“Haley…” Mark said.
“Bye,” Haley said. “I love you both.”
Haley walked into her room and started to pack her things. After she was done she walked out to her car.
“Haley don’t leave on my account,” Tristian said.
“Too late,” Haley said. “My body may be here, but my heart is with my dad in Virginia.”
“Fine whatever! Have a nice life,” Tristian yelled while Haley drove off.
When Haley got onto the highway she called her father.
“Hello?” Kent asked.
“Hey dad it’s Haley,” Haley said.
“Hi Haley,” Kent said. “What are you up to?”
“Well, I’m on the road driving to Virginia,” Haley said.
“You are?” Kent said.
“Yeah,” Haley said while crying.
“What’s wrong sweetie?” Kent asked.
“Tristian cheated on me,” Haley said. “Is it okay if I stay with you awhile?”
“Yes of course,” Kent replied.
“Thanks,” Haley said. “I’m sorry I didn’t call when I got home last night. I was tired.”
“That’s okay,” Kent said.
“Well, daddy I will talk to you when I get there,” Haley said.
“Okay,” Kent said. “I’ll talk to you later, bye.”
“Bye,” Haley said. Haley got off her cell phone.
Haley got to the beach house around midnight. She pulled into the drive way. Kent came out of the house to help her with her things.
“Haley come here,” Kent said.
Haley went up to her dad and gave him a hug.
“Sweetie, just go in side and go to sleep I will grab your things. After Kent got Haley’s things he went into her room and sat the stuff down on the floor. He gave her a kiss on the cheek and pulled the covers up.
The next morning Kent made breakfast gravy and pancakes. He was hoping that Haley was hungry from driving all that way. Haley woke up and walked out into the kitchen. She sat down at the table and poured herself some orange juice.
“Good morning Haley,” Kent said.
“Good morning daddy,” Haley replied.
Right when Haley was about to tell Kent how she liked her eggs she fell off her chair.
“Haley, sweetie are you okay?” Kent asked, but there was no answer.
Kent grabbed Haley off the ground and put her in his vehicle. He drove her to the hospital.
“Nurse, I need help,” Kent said. “My daughter fainted at the house and she hasn’t waken up yet.”
The nurse got a doctor. The doctor took her into a room and examined her. He ran a bunch of tests on her.
After awhile the doctor came out of Haley’s room to talk to Kent.
“Mr. Limp?” the doctor asked.
“Yes, I’m here,” Kent replied.
“I need to talk to you about your daughter,” the doctor said.
“Yes, how is she?” Kent asked.
“She’s fine for now,” the doctor said.
“What do you mean for now?” Kent asked.
“Mr. Limp, your daughter has cancer,” the doctor replied.
“But don’t you have treatments for it?” Kent asked.
“Yes,” the doctor said. “But…”
“Don’t give me any buts,” Kent said.
“Mr. Limp we can’t treat your daughter because she is pregnant,” the doctor said.
“She’s pregnant?” Kent asked.
“Yes, and as much as I would like to treat her we can’t until she has the baby,” the doctor said.
“How far is she?” Kent asked.
“Around two months,” the doctor stated.
“Is my daughter awake? Can I talk to her?” Kent asked.
“Yes you may,” the doctor said. “Just don’t tire her out.”
“Okay,” Kent said.
Kent went into Haley’s room and sat on the side of the bed.
“Daddy, I’m so sorry,” Haley said.
“Shh…it’s okay,” Kent answered.
“Daddy what’s going to happen to my baby?” Haley asked.
“The baby is going to be fine sweetie,” Kent replied.
“You sure?” Haley asked again.
“Yes I’m sure,” Kent said. “But for now just rest.”
Haley fell asleep. Kent went through her purse to find her cell phone to get the Doright’s phone number. Kent called the Doright’s.
“Haley?” Josie said.
“No, this is Kent,” Kent said.
“Where’s Haley?” Josie asked.
“She’s in the hospital,” Kent answered.
“Is she okay?” Josie asked.
“For now,” he said.
“For now? I don’t understand,” she said.
“Haley has cancer,” he said.
“But can’t they treat her?” she asked.
“Not yet,” he said.
“And why not?” she asked.
“Because Haley is pregnant,” he answered.
“How far along is she?” she asked.
“Two months,” she said.
“That means…” she began to say.
“That means it’s Tristian’s baby as well,” he said.
“Yes,” she said. “I guess I will tell the family.”
“You do that,” Kent said. “I will bring Haley back to you after she gets released from the hospital.”
“Okay,” she said. “Bye.”
“Bye,” he said.
After Josie hung up with Kent she called a family meeting with Tristian being apart of it.
“Mr. Limp called me today,” Josie said.
“What did he have to say about Haley?” Tristian asked.
“Well,…” Josie began to say.
“Well, what mom?” Penny asked.
“Haley’s in the hospital,” Josie said.
“What? Why?” Tristian asked.
“Haley has cancer,” answered Josie.
“Well, they are going to treat her right?” Tristian asked again.
“Tristian that is such a stupid question to ask, right mom?” Adam asked.
“Well, they’re not going to treat her,” Josie answered.
“Why not?” Mark asked.
“Because Haley’s pregnant,” Josie muttered.
“What did you say Mrs. D?” Tristian asked.
“Tristian you’re going to be a daddy,” Josie said.
“Oh my,” Tristian said.
“My words exactly,” Josie said.
“How far along is she?” Penny asked.
“Two months,” Josie replied.
“That means it was the first time that we did it,” Tristian said.
“Well, I guess so Tristian since it just hit two months yesterday,” Josie yelled.
“Mrs. D don’t yell at me, it’s not like I meant to do it,” Tristian said.
“Yes, but it did happen,” Josie said. “And now I’m sorry to say, but there is no hope for Haley.”
“NO!” Tristian screamed.
Penny sat beside Tristian and raped her arms around him.
“Shh…Tristian, mom isn’t exactly sure about that,” Penny said.
“Really?” Tristian asked.
“Yes really,” Josie said.
“When am I going to see her again?” Tristian asked.
“Kent is going to bring Haley back to us when she gets release from the hospital there.” Josie said.
Mean while, Kent was back at his place packing Haley’s things to go to the hospital to pick her up and head to Florida.
“Daddy why do I have to go back there?” Haley asked.
“Sweetie you have family there that loves you and a guy that’s sorry for what he did. I bet Tristian wants to help raise the baby,” Kent said.
“But you’re family,” Haley said.
“Yes, but not like them,” Kent replied.
“Okay, I will go back,” Haley said.
Haley got released because there was nothing that the doctors could do for until she had the baby. Haley got into her car with Kent and drove off to head back to Florida.
Haley slept the whole time that Kent was driving. Kent pulled into the Doright’s drive in. Everyone came out of the house.
Tristian grabbed Haley’s bags and put them done in her room. Haley just went down stairs and went to bed. Mark drove Kent to the airport so he could fly back home to Virginia.
The next day Haley and Tristian talked about their relationship. Tristian had said that he made a really huge mistake with sleeping with Bianca and that he hoped that she could forgive him.
Seven months past to January. On January 29th Haley delivered a beautiful baby boy. She named him Cole Michael.
After baby Cole was born the doctors started to treat Haley’s cancer. Kent came into town after Cole was born he wanted to stay with Haley for what he thought would be her last days.
“Daddy, would you do something for me?” Haley asked.
“Yeah, sure,” Kent answered.
“Get a piece of paper and write what I say down,” Haley said.
“Okay, let me go get a piece,” Kent said. After Kent got the piece of paper she began….
She died two days later. Kent gave the letter to Tristian.

Tristian finally got to the last page of Haley’s journal and she writes…
“When I leave this world I hope people can look back and say…that I was truly blessed. I never thought so, but I was. I found my dear Tristian and my son Cole. I write to my son on this slip of paper…”
My Dearest Cole,
When you get to read this I pray that you will have an understanding of me. I love you so much, and if I had a choice to go to heaven or stay here on Earth. I would have chose to stay. I pray that you grow up to be a good, hearted man who will get to live for many years. I love you my dearest son.

Almost a year has past and yet everyone still morns for Haley. Tristian frequently tells Cole about his mother and how her life just seemed to happen like she wished upon a star one night.
