Todays lesson: There is NOTHING in bakersfield
So, today I went to bakersfield with the parentals for some yearly family thing. That was a fuckin waste of time. I drove 2 and a half hours to eat lunch with some people I dont remember at some resturaunt that was older than palmdale itself in a city that should have been demolished years ago. That place was opened in 1856, and it showed. Although, I did find humor on the way there. EXAMPLE: Were about halfway there, driving through the middle of nowhere, like seriously for miles it was just empty desert. Then there was a boat. Just a random boat. It looked like a nice boat at one time, but now it was beat up. Completely rusted, broken windows, hole in the side, and so on. Then spray painted on the side was S.S. Minnow. That was honestly the funniest thing I have seen in a LONG time. Someone just decided to arbitrarily put a boat in the middle of the desert... It was great. Then we had a discussion on why it was called bakersfield... My dad seems to think the grow bakers there. Meh, I personally cant see why anyone would live there willingly.
Anyway, the food was alright. It was about as random as the town itself... First spicey chicken noodle soup, then cow tounge, then salad, then lamb, then spegetti, then steak, then other random foods. Needless to say, I didnt eat much. My cousin (16 years of age) got more food on herself then in her mouth. That was entertaining.
