Friends, Lovers and Everybody In Between

Skyler once told me that you will have as many true friends as you can count on one hand. Oh-so wise advice from his oh-so wise step-father. He told me this after my miscarriage. I used to say I didn't have a best friend because I had so many close friends. I used to use the term 'close friends' loosely. Now I have few close friends. Everyone else ( Read more... )

Ok I think I've got it Nicole, your a Bishop. You mostly do a lot of behind-the-scene stuff for me. "The main limitation of this piece is that it is confined to only the black or the white squares throughout the game, depending on its starting position (on a black or white square). Therefore, a change in the opponent's pawn structure can jeopardize the usefulness and effectiveness of a bishop." "However, a bishop can be an excellent attacker if it lurks behind pawns inconspicuously and unleashes a long-range attack at an opponent's unguarded piece, due to its ability to traverse diagonally any number of squares. Again, like the Queen and the rook, it can capture any opponent's piece in its [own]way."

Alissa and Doug are both Rooks because they're below Josh and who I most commonly turn to. My three closest friends I concider are Josh, Alissa and Doug so my three most powerful pieces are assigned to them.

I need another Bishop for you to team up with Nicole, and I need two knights. It'll take awhile to do the pawns so I'll do them last.

I've just realized I've done two metaphors on my relationships with people. The first was the planet Saturn one where there's only a few on the planet's surface and the rest were in the rings. Now it's this chess one, this one's so much harder, you really have to think. I've been on so many chess websites now and I still don't think I could play without the computer telling me which spaces I can move in!
