I can't believe I didn't catch on when you were asking about transvestites in Germany on little-details! :D I had expected to eventually read a "regular" coming out fic.

This is wonderful! I love the thoughtful attention to detail you give Philipp's transformation, and I loved that it's written from the perspective of his boyfriend. I love that they *both* go shopping for Pia.

The knowledge that Andreas Ottl was the only one, in real life, to attend Phil's and Claudia's wedding gives me an idea about how things eventually turned out. Or rather, two: a sad version and a very interesting one! :D

Andreas' ready acceptance comes a bit too easy for me to believe it at times - although I loved the bookstore scene and him watching Fips shop - but I'd rather have it this way than it being less positive, really.

I've been waiting for someone to fill this transgender prompt (the only one on fbkink so far to my knowledge) and then this came along! I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Thank you for reading, and I'm glad you liked it!

As I said in the notes, this is based very loosely on real life events, so uh, Andreas' ready acceptance does have a past history there. XD I mean, for me anyway, I love one person. Whatever that person decides to be is another thing entirely, but I'll support and love every step of the way.

I'm planning to write more of this for footie_bang- Pia's interactions at various points with Timo Hildebrand, Bastian Schweinsteiger, and, yes, Claudia. I haven't decided entirely the details of how things will end with Andreas; I know it will end with them on relatively good terms, even as Philipp gets married, even as Andreas leaves Bayern. How it will get there, not sure yet. XP I'm also thinking of exploring the fact that Bayern (like many Bundesliga clubs) does have a supporter's group that LGBT-focused (they're called "Queerpass Bayern"). We'll see!

Thanks again!!

You already know my thoughts on this, but let me tell you again how much I love this. Their uncertainty is just so spot on and Andreas' willingness to help and what not, omg no words, just fangirly emotions <3___<3

Andreas looks at Pia, and he knows he loves her.

That line. It slays me every time and I turn into a flailing, weepy, squealing fangirl. Go on without me, leave me here to bask in it's perfection.

well done to you for tackling such a complicated (and often mishandled) issue as gender identity in this fic. you've explored it with depth and honesty here.

what i liked: that this is told through andreas' perspective and the care and attention you pay to detailing Philipp's transformation into Pia. i particularly enjoyed andreas' trip down to Glockenbachviertel and how that both informs readers and transforms Andreas as a character. i also liked that you left the ending open, that this was a work in progress much like gender and sexuality itself - unfixed.

piggybacking off of what sashtwen said in the above comment: i'd say that what comes a bit too easy for me isn't andreas' easy acceptance (you've already established that he's rather fluid with his sexuality) but rather philipp's immediate comfort with this new identity he's assumed. it's a minor quibble though, really, in light of all the other amazing things going on in this fic.

thank you for writing this - you've done such excellent work.

i hope you don't mind if i continue this discussion, as i've just re-read this for the third time today. you're right, much of my confusion likely had a lot to do with the fact that we're seeing things from andreas' perspective here. we don't get to see what's going on in philipp's/pia's mind and how sexualized this entire experience may be for him. i'd like to though, very much. it'd be fascinating to find out what's going on behind the scenes here ( ... )

This is really, really good, and on a very difficult topic. I was excited to actually read it, and loved it.
