Posting because the song had turned up on my iPod during my commute and I think I've never posted the accompanying Fifth Doctor vid, so here it is along with some commentary. The song is "Cricket" by the Kinks:

I find it interesting that it's a song which basically heaps praise on cricket with religious connotations, and this perfectly matches with Five's very moral, very lawful, very urbane view of the universe. The song expounds on how cricket is a parable for man's battle for his soul, with man as the batsman protecting the wicket and the Demon bowler attempting to take that wicket. I don't think it's mere coincidence that Five is dressed like a cricketer, even if he only got to play once in TV canon and a handful of times in Big Finish audio canon.
Take a look at the lyrics: "Show compassion and self-righteousness and be honest above all". How perfect is that description for Five? Also, in re-listening to this song, I was pleasantly surprised by how much of the specialized cricket terms I actually understood without having to look them up. :)
