Don't know if I like all this Twitter Posting....
I mean really: I have posted here more often over the past month than I had even REALISED. But the posts aren't up to any kind of LJ standard. Posts ought to be WRITTEN like this one.
So anyway - I am thinking of initiating a little project that has been on my mind for the past few months: I want to start a Science Fiction Book Club.
But not just any crap sci-fi. I would like to go through some of the classics, that you never got time to read. You know, like I am Legend, or Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? Possibly delving back to some H. G. Wells - The First Men in the Moon. Or perhaps even reading Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (the ORIGINAL sci-fi novel).
The kind of well crafted stuff that has in some way informed the rest of the genre as it has developed.
I wonder if anyone out there would be interested in partaking in such a club? Once monthly meetings, in a Pub in the Inner West of Sydney? Possibly we could do a virtual component, as well - with people writing in their thoughts on the month's book.
