so sorry to hear about your grandmother. Mine died about a year ago. She had been fine at my brother's farewell when he went overseas, walking around and chatting to everyone. 3 weeks later she went into acute renal failure. It was a few days after her 91st birthday when she passed away. Mum and her sister took it badly, but they also said it was something of a relief as for the last week she was in a lot of pain.

If she is sick, and it is not curable, then for her sake the sooner it happens the better. I hope that she is not suffering much. I know you have prob thought of it already & stuff, but if you can take Lilly to see her in the next few weeks, before she gets bad, I think both Lilly and your grandmother would appreciate it.

We had a very sad little birthday party around Grandma's bed last year, and the only thing that roused her and cause her to smile was my little niece Josie giving her a kiss and saying "GG I love you so much", and my nephew Rory (who was 12) arriving soon afterwards. Josie may not remember in the years to come - she was about 2 at the time - but it gave Grandma so much pleasure to see her. And Rory said it meant a lot to him to say goodbye to her properly. I would think that Lilly is old enough to have that kind of reaction, but obviously it is your decision to make.
