So I really just wanted an excuse to use this comic before I forget....but I really like doing extracurricular shit at UW.
The first meeting for Young Americans for Liberty is tomorrow, and I'm interested to see how it'll turn out. I'm expecting a low turnout, but it's cool to have any at all. I at least know of one girl that wants my help in showing her how to start her own chapter at U of Portland....so that's good haha.
I really like the people at the Pro-Life group a lot more than I thought I would. They're really, really nice people. Yet I've discovered my reasons for being Pro-Life are really a lot more philosophical and more technical than the others. Oh well, tabling is fun. We get some really disgruntled people coming up to us though. There's one lady we've considered calling the cops on, because she'll come up multiple times in a few hours, and just SCREAM at us. It's really cool, actually. It's really interesting being the minority on campus.
Then I went to another meeting of Quiz Bowl. Basically the university equivalent of Knowledge Bowl. I actually did a lot better than I expected, because everyone there is really, really smart. I was expecting to get my ass handed, but figured it was worth a try, but the only person ahead of me was this genius of a graduate student. I need to find out what the Hell she's majoring in, besides kicking ass. But yeah, I really like it because I feel like it really pushes me to think about and remember all these things I haven't thought about in years...like what the Diet of Worms was, and what a ketone even is. OH, and DAVID BYRNE got me an answer for one haha.
Now I just need to get to actually studying my chemistry. My last midterm was...less than satisfactory. At least biopsych and Spanish are going well.
