“No fair, you cheated!” He can’t prove it but his friend couldn’t have picked up three at once. No way!
Eros smiles and watches on as two young children play the modern game of Jacks, remembering his own game of golden knucklebones with fondness. No one beats him at knucklebones. No one, he muses, tossing three golden bones up and smiling oh so very smugly as all three land on the back of his hand, as if to do otherwise would be folly, indeed.
