Holidays

My parents are going away next weekend to Centre Parcs so I thought reminisce about all the holidays I have been on.

The first holiday that I can remeber was to Scotland when I was about 5. We went with my Nannie & Grandad. I don't remember a great deal about it, other than the place we stayed was like a log cabin and was really nice... We went for a bike ride one day... then it rained so we had to go back home. One evenign we went out for a meal and my Mum had haggis which I thought was revolting.

The next Holiday was to Butlins, I think I was about 6. I don't remember much about this either other than cutting my foot in the swimming pool and having my photo taken whilst sitting on a giant model of a tooth paste tube.

3rd holiday was to Disney Land Paris when I was 7 or 8 and it was AMAZZZZING. Obviously. We stayed at a very unexciting hotel.. called Hotel Chyenne but it wasn't REALLY close to the park so we had to walk a bit. It was okay, me and Ali had a bunk bed. I think we were there for about 4 days and one day we visited Paris and had a drink at a cafe opposite the Notre Dame. I was too small to go on most of the big rides, and also too scared, but I did go on one called Big Thunder mountain. I've just looked up all the rides online and it says this ride is reccomended for ages 3+!! Well, I was 8 and it bloody scared me! We also went in the haunted house which I hated. There were people dressed up and skeletons or something and I am really, really scared of people who are dressed up... So you can imagine, I was pooing myself whenever Mickey Mouse or Goofy walked by.
The best ride there was the pirates of the caribbean... It  was brilliant, we went on it several times. It was a boat ride then went and down really fast through the caves. I can't explain it very well, but it was SO good. I really want to go back to Disney Land soon.

The next holiday was to Cornwall with the Freemans, friends of the family. The journey was very long but it was worth it. The house we stayed in was lovely and in a really nice area right by the sea. I loved that holiday and would love to go back to that part of cornwall.

Holiday number five was to austria, again with the Freemans. I was 10 years old and I didn't like flying. I can't remember much about this holiday and we didn't really do anything interesting for children... I think I'd probably appreciate it more now that I'm older.

I think the next holiday was to Derby with my family. I was 12 I think, it was okay. I remember me and Alistair not getting on well at that time so he refused to sleep in the same room as me. Infact I remember hi being a right little shit whilst we were playing cards, he swore for the first time infront of our parents and got in a big trouble! We went on a few walks during that holiday which I quite enjoyed. We also went to Alton towers!! I foolishly made the choice to go on the log flume at the beginning of the day and got completely soaked. I was so wet I had to buy a pair of Alton Towers trousers from the gift shop!! I was too scared to go on any other rides so we just walked about but it was a nice day.

The next holiday was to Dorset with the freemans when I was about 13. That was nice, we went to lots of places, one being Longleat Safari Park, one of the best zoos in britain.

Holiday number 8 was back to Cornwall but in a different part to where we stayed before, and it wasn't as nice. The holiday home was awful, it was.. just crap. Once we'd driven into the ain village it was lovely though, I'd love to live somewhere like that near a bay. I can't remeber doing much there either...I don't think it was very good.

Then we went to the isle of wight when I was.. 15? This was at the peak of my anxiety and I remember having quite a few panic attacks. We had to get the ferry and I was convinced I was going to get sea sick and had a big old panic attack, refusing to get on. But of course, I was fine and could barely feel the ferry moving, so no sea sickness there. I panicked a few times in t he car aswell, and at meal times too. The isle of wight is really small so we would dirve for an hour and get to the other side of the island. It's a pretty place but being 15 I didn't appreciate it and complained at every opportunity.

The last holiday I went on was to Paris with my ex Boyfriend, Spencer. We went in August 2007? That was y first holiday with my parents and me and spencer spent a lot of time beforehand researching places to go and planning everything. We got the eurotunnel there which took about 2 hours and was fantastic, so much more convinient than getting a plane! Then we got the metro to our hotel. The hotel was lovely, small and quite basic but nice enough. We were fairly near the Notre Dame, which we visited on our first day. Paris is quite small, well the places you want to go to are close together so we'd visited all of the tourist attractions within the first 2 days so on the 3rd day we just wandered about. The weather was gorgeous. We walked up to the first floor of the eifel tower, where I threw up as I was so out of breath and unfit!!! That was high enough for me, I don't think I'd want to go right to the top!! It's a ncie place to wander about and look at little shops but there weren't any shops where you could buy clothes or things like that... They have posh, designer shops but not normal shops...

Inbetween all of these holiday I've been to centre parcs about 7 or 8 times. I absolutely love it there and it would be so good if I could live there!! My parents have been twice without me and Alistair, which is unfair. Hopefully we can all go together this year!
