Yay for today! I just got back from having a sinfully decadent brownie with one of my favorite people. That alone is enough to start a day out right. But then I checked my e-mail, and Greenpeace says they want to schedule me for a telephone interview asap (meaning next Wednesday or Thursday). This is one of my top-choice jobs. Woot

Sharing a non-dangerous, non-grotty apartment is going to set you back about $1000 a month maybe? Depends on where you need to live. Be careful some 'hoods are really dangerous. Check Craigs list for SF. To live, I'd say about 60K, and thats not a lux lifestyle!!

So the title spells out a lot. One BR in-law apt., on Judah near 11th Ave. You have your own bathroom, bedroom and living room, access to backyard. Kitchen is only thing shared with upstairs neighbors except the bills (split four ways, no cable). Landlord won't allow pets, sorry.

Place doesn't have a heater, but a space heater warms it up quickly. Backyard is nice, has a water feature, vegetable garden, swing, BBQ.

Small bathroom with stand-up shower, sink, toilet and medicine cabinet (in short: its a bathroom). Living room has your own small fridge, microwave and a hotplate included in rent. Also has a bookshelf, and a futon that's good for when your friends crash over. No parking, but street parking in Sunset is super easy. I drive to work every day and haven't had a problem in 1.5 years.

Three guys live upstairs, in late 20's nice guys, we hang out occasionally but they aren't intrusive. In the summer they sometimes walk through the place to get to the backyard to garden or just enjoy the sun. Only three blocks from 9th Avenue which has tons of restaurants, coffee shops, a few pubs, stores, etc... N-Judah stops right out front of the front door outbound and 1/2 block away inbound.

Big closet in living room, small dresser in bedroom with one broken drawer, but if you don't want it I'm sure you can trash it (or tell me and I'll do it for you). I can probably take the futon off your hands if you don't want it as well.

Showing house this weekend for immediate rental.

Rent for February will be pro-rated at $30/day and deposit is $900, due on move-in. One person only, small chance of a couple.

I know, housing in San Fran is crazy-expensive. I was doing cost of living comparisons - ~40k in San Fran = $25k here. Most of that is a difference in the cost of housing. As to the dangerous neighborhoods thing - I'll have to have people in the area help me out with that one. Can't necessarily trust a rental agency when it's trying to move units. le sigh.
