I am employed

So after 7 months of bupkis, I am finally employed.  I have been volunteering at Give Kids the World (a non-profit resort that helps grant the wishes of children with life threatening diseases who want to go to Central Florida attractions).  On Saturday, I volunteered at a new area called Katie's Kitchen.  It is run with employees, food, and supplies donated by Boston Market.  The manager said I was doing a good job and he wished he could hire me.  I told him I was looking and I got a call on Monday with a job offer to work that night.  I think I like it so far.  The employees seem nice and all of the volunteers are great.  All of the food is completely free to the families and the fact that it is a non-profit makes it very different than working in the insurance industry.

I like the actual work so far, but it is definitely different from what I'm use to doing.  I've managed to avoid eating the food so far; I'm sure I would gain plenty if I ate the mac and cheese and creamed spinach every night.

My shifts are in the evenings when Brian and I usually spend time together so we are going to have to figure out how to work around that.  I love cooking dinner for Brian so I was sad that we would be missing that, but Brian asked me to make him Bento dinners!  I've really enjoyed planning and executing them.

:)
Also, next Wednesday, I'm taking my GRE!  I have forgotten so much of the math I learned in high school, so I've been struggling to cram it back in.  I hope the verbal will be high enough to balance it!
