Today I went to the airport to drop off my rental car and pick up another one. This is the third day in a row that I have rented a car. I hope Budget doesn't think I've been committing some sort of complicated scam :) The actual reason for the three rentals is that Brian found a Delta miles promotion in which we could get 9,999 miles in return for renting three times from Budget. Brian already rented his three cars and now we have enough Delta miles for a ticket to Japan. The six rentals were in the neighborhood of $300 and a ticket to Japan is $1300+ Brian's deal hunting skills amaze me :)
Brian has been planning our trip to Japan tentatively for Spring of 2009. I'm super excited! We are, of course, going to go to Tokyo Disneyland, but haven't decided what else to do. I am a bit concerned about the lack of vegetarian friendly food, but Brian and I have put together a plan. We are going to pick some hotels within the vicinity of some completely vegetarian restaurants. For Tokyo Disneyland has waffles, crepes and pasta type items (not the healthiest, but I'll take what I can get). To fill in the gaps, we are also going to bring some freeze-dried camp food that just requires boiling water. Here is a neat
website I found with interesting flavors (I'll planning on trying some huevos rancheros and organic tofu pesto).
