A post for Jillianne

And everyone else that I have been neglectful about updating.  I’m sorry and will be posting more.

So I am getting married on January 24th/25th.  But first let me back up to the proposal.  On our first date, Brian told me that he went to Disneyland twice a year and was very excited that I didn’t think he was insane even though we lived right next to Disney World.  We went on our first trip together to Disneyland in the summer of 2006.  At the end of the first wonderful day at Disneyland after the park closed we went the Snow White wishing well.  It is in a secluded spot right next to the castle and it felt like we had the whole park to ourselves.  We each threw in a penny and made a wish.  It was a lovely, romantic way to end the day.  We went to Disneyland again for Christmas that year and I made the same wish again.

Our next trip was in April this year.  The first day there, Brian took me straight to the wishing well after we first arrived so I suspected something was up since that was usually the last thing we did.  Brian reached into his pocket and my heart leapt into my throat, but he pulled out his wallet and handed me a coin.  I made the same wish I always had and that’s when Brian got down on one knee and granted my wish.  I don’t know how Brian knew because I never told him, but that was just the proposal I wanted.  Later that day, as we walked around in a cloud of happiness, Brian asked if there was anything that he could make the day better.  I joked that maybe if my family popped out from around the corner.  Brian told me he could quite do that, but he had already secretly rebooked the route home so that we would stop over in Kansas City for a couple of hours so I could share the news with my family in person.

Brian always makes me feel like the luckiest girl in the world.

The wedding is going to be on a three night Disney Cruise Line trip leaving January 24th.  I don’t quite know what our anniversary day will be since we will do a little legal ceremony at the port to make it legal in Florida.  The actual ceremony with be on the 25th while we are docked at the port of Nassau.  It will be on the bow of the ship (weather permitting).   Our immediate families are coming on the cruise with us for the wedding.  We are also going to have a reception in Kansas City on February 16th and a reception in Pennsylvania for Brian’s side of the family on March 1st.  We are going to hold off on our honeymoon to give us some rest time, but we are hoping to go to Europe (probably England, Germany and France).
