“Are you really gonna send him off to the airport?” Junno, seating on the passenger seat, asked Kame while they were driving along the highway going North.
“And why not?”
“It was him who wanted to leave, why go desperately scrambling to him just to make him stay? Don’t be too hard on yourself, Kazu. Just Let him go.” Junno suggested.
“You know I can’t do that. It’s like I’m letting half of my soul go!” Kame blurted at the top of his voice as he stepped on the gas pedal.
“That’s the point, Kazu.” Koki, seating behind the driver’s seat, tapped him on the shoulder. “All his life, your existence defined his. It’s about time you set him free and let him do things on his own.”
Kame shrugged and brushed off Koki’s hand off his shoulder.
“Leave the cocoon alone so he can be a butterfly.” Uepi butted in pointing to the butterfly tattoo on his neck.
“Gomen ne, minna. Jin wo akiramenai yo.” Kame threw a glance at his side mirror and suddenly sped up. The arrow of his convertible’s
speedometer was restlessly shaking. “Sore wa yasashii ja nai, demo gambatte.”
“Calm down, Kazu, you don’t want to get a speeding ticket and be suspended by Johnny-san!” Maru warned as he held tightly on the door.
