I can feel my little hippo moving and kicking around inside my tummy. Hands down the coolest feeling I have ever felt in my life. It feels like a little fish wiggling around in my uterine area. It is AMAZING to know that there is a PERSON in my body, my little baby, interacting with me, listening to my voice when I sing (for better or for worse). Ugh... if I love him this much already, I am in serious trouble.
Today I came home from work to find the crib all put together (surprise!) and arrived via shipment from Mom thanks to Adams skills. It looks perfect. I can't believe I have to wait 4.5 more months for my little man to get here! I can't wait to hold him in my arms and just look at him. He is my perfect little love already. I have a premonition that this is what they meant when they talk about love at first sight.
On the non-baby side, I am preparing for a presentation I am giving to on behalf of the National Kidney Foundation for area RD's, PA's, MD's re: diabetes and CKD. Excited for this major opportunity! I was nervous but I am beginning to feel more confident. My first paid speaking engagement :) It makes me feel like a real professional. I am also scheduled for my BCACP exam on Sept 26th and I have been (what I feel is) relentlessly studying to the best of my ability. It distracts me from baby a little which I don't like... but I think I am striking a fairly good balance between the studying, presenting, teaching, working, and getting ready to be a Mama! I feel really proud of where I am at today. And giggly because the baby keeps wiggling and it makes me ecstatic (see? Can't stop thinking about it even when I am in 'working' mode.)
Sigh... back to the books, update over.
