Welcome Campers!
I hope your first few days of Camp NaNo have been fun filled! While there's nothing we can do about the mosquitos, we do have some excellent ways to keep your minds off the little swarming bugs.
Right off the start, make sure that you pick out a comfortable chair. Next, your choice of computer or writing paper (ah, good ol' lined paper!) and a pen with your choice of ink. Maybe you'll want to get a beverage from our refreshment center over there in the corner. Yes, right next to Marie. Wave at the campter, Marie. Very good.
Did you bring chocolate? Oh, well, you'll need to get some of that. Let me give you some of my spare M&M's to get your through until you can get your own stash. Don't mind the pocket lint. Or maybe you'd like something else to bribe your muse with. I've also used crackers. For some reason, my muse loves crackers. Feel free to try different things to keep your muse productive and happy.
Do be sure to check the daily schedule. Some of you have swimming during the times that others of you have archery. You'll want to get signed up to take out the paragliders, as well. Does anyone want to go fishing? Be sure to check out our supply of worms. Whatever you decide to do, it's important to do SOMETHING outside in this glorious weather. Your muse will appreciate it just as much as your own body will.
It's time for our FIRST CAMP CRAFT!
So, remember that goal you set for yourself before you got to camp? Now is the time to share that with the rest of us! You can draw it (maybe write it out and doodle around the words or you can even draw out what you would actually like to accomplish this month) or you can write it out (anyone willing to put their goal in a poem?) but make it look pretty. Use glitter or shells or even some macaroni if you can get your hands on it. This can be something you do digitally or you can create it in real life and take a picture of it and share it with us. Be as creative as you would like.
And there will be a SINGALONG later!
Reply to this entry with one of your favorite songs to listen to while writing so we can be sure to include it in the gathering!
Always remember our camp motto: E Plura... oh wait. Wrong motto! Let's see... where did I put that piece of paper. Here it is! Our motto is - ALWAYS HAVE FUN!
Your Camp Director,
Lar
P.S. This is TOTALLY getting included in my word count for the day!
