Lord Downey looked at the note regarding the new student yet again. It was very formal, very polite, and very careful not to say in words what was clearly said in spirit.
Please take this student. They’re scaring all the other children.
The poor thing was an orphan, after all. And the previous school’s report suggested talents with stealth and subtle intimidation. There was no real reason not to take this one in.
No reason except their deeply unsettling nature, but that wasn’t good enough.
