Worst Witch - Mildred - #3 Wine

Cas, like all of the other students of Andy Starfinder, was fascinated with his new age teaching. Starfinder used experiments to teach his students. It wasn’t exactly a new method to non-magical students, but to magical students at a school for wizardry it was insane. The form-mistress was especially suspect of it. It annoyed her when she thought she was catching students breaking rules, only to find out that they were doing an experiment for one of Starfinder’s classes. It was frustrating as there was nothing she could do other than be mad.

Unlike some students, who had felt they had been wronged, Cas wasn’t taking Starfinder’s class to seek some sort of revenge. She was just really interested in learning from him. She loved experiments. The most interesting experiment she performed dealt with wine. Even thought wine wasn’t magical potion, but it acted like one in particular - a truth potion. When she compared the results of the wine to the truth potion to her surprise the wine worked best.

She didn’t test them on herself, of course, but on her roommates and friends. Actually, it was her roommates, Ethel and Mildred, who gave her the most interesting results. They always acted like they couldn’t stand one another. But, after imbibing a few glasses of wine Cas learned that Ethel really only felt obligated to dislike Mildred, but that she secretly had a crush crush on her. Mildred had similar feelings towards Ethel. Neither would admit it to the other though.

The stupid arguments between the two started to annoy Cas even more since she learned the truth. She decided that there was a simple solution to that problem, she just needed them to confess their true feelings to each other. That wouldn’t be too hard, it would just take a little planning, and hopefully not too much wine. Cas poured three glasses of wine and put the bottle in the center of the table. But something didn’t look right to her. They needed food, maybe sandwiches. Cas left to go pick some up from Misery Café.

“What’s all this?” Ethel asked grumpily as she walked into the room. She noticed the fine table cloth and wine on the table.

“I don’t know. I guess Cas is expecting company?” Mildred replied, not really paying attention to detail. “Maybe she’s got a date?”

“But there are three glasses,” Ethel argued. “So does that mean she has two dates?”

Mildred examined the table, “It could be Azmat and Tim. You know they are inseparable.”

“Hi guys,” Cas greeted her roommates smiling as she came in carrying a brown paper bag. “Did you guys start without me? I’m not upset if you did.”

“Cas,” Mildred sighed unhappily, she wasn’t a big fan of Cas’ experiments with wine.

Ethel gave Cas the same annoyed look that Mildred did. They both figured out what she was up to and neither were ready to express the feelings she want them to. She knew she went over the line, she had said that the results were confidential, but she couldn’t resist trying to gain peace in her dorm room.

Cas put down the bag of sandwiches and walked backwards to the door with an impish grin. “I’ll see you two later.”
