Yesterday, as is often the case, all the trains were packed. About 4 of them went by until I finally squeezed onto one. Many others were not so lucky, but I was already late for work. At that moment someone on the platform just snapped. He started yelling and threatening the TTC workers, talking about how he's going to come down with a baseball bat and so on. Now, what in their infinite wisdom do the operators decide to do? They shut down the train. Now picture it: hundreds of people crammed into subway cars with no means of escape while a maniac is stalking the platform hulking out in a violent rage. Yup, it was a sour day for transit. After ten minutes the train started crawling along.
