1. List any radio stations you listen to. 96.1 Star FM, Triple J.
2. List any DJs on those aforementioned radio stations. Jase, Ant and Becks (The Benchwarmers), Andrew G.
3. Has listening to the radio ever been a part of your daily routine (ie. listening to it while driving to school or work, listening to it while getting ready in the morning, etc)? Is it still a part of your daily routine? If not, how long ago was it and why did this change? Listening to the radio is still part of my daily routine. On the way to and from school, me and my family always listen to the radio.
4. Have you ever felt some sort of connection with other listeners while listening to the radio? Has a particular song make you think that other people feel the same way about that song? Has a particular news story made you feel connected with other listeners? Be specific as possible. I've never really felt connected to other listeners on the radio because the radio is something that is braudcast in so many places. It's designed to attract and appeal to the masses, the people who like a lot of songs that are just on the radio and are popular, and the masses tend to like different music than I do. If something is designed to appeal to so many people, then it is usually not very personal or emotion and it's hard to have a connection. I'm not sure if I explained that very well, but I hope I did.
5. Do you listen to the radio at all? If so, when? To and from school.
6. Do you own an mp3 player or satellite radio? I own an iPod.
7. Where to you find out about news? The Internet, the newspaper and on TV.
8. List 8 of your favorite bands. Which of these bands did you find out about through the radio? My Chemical Romance Matchbox 20 (Radio) The Used The Academy Is... Blink 182 (Radio) Fall Out Boy Green Day (Radio) Muse (Radio) Queen (Radio) The Rocket Summer
9. Is there any band or musician you would like to hear on radio that cannot be currently found on radio? A lot of alternative artists, or new artists that are just starting out or already have a live following.
10. Where do you find out about new music? The Internet.
11. How do you feel about radio now? I think radio is all right sometimes, when I just want to listen and not really connect or anything, but if I want to listen to music that has meaning or that means something to me, then radio is not the place.
12. Where do you think radio is headed? I think it will stay in the same position as it is now.
