"Do you really think we should do this?" Jakotsu asked Bankotsu with genuine uncertainty.
"What else can we do? If we betray Naraku, he'll surely kill us." Bankotsu looked more wary than usual as they continued on the dirt path.
"I don't want you to die, but I do love Inuyasha too..." Jakotsu was startled when Bankotsu abruptly stopped in front of him.
"Why... Why do you like that dog anyway? He hasn't done anything for you! I'm the one you should be in love with!" Bankotsu yelled and didn't seem to care if Renkotsu, Ginkotsu, or Suikotsu heard.
Bankotsu nearly dropped his Banryu when he started running ahead of the group. Apparently Renkotsu, Ginkotsu, and Suikotsu had heard what Bankotsu said; since Renkotsu got off and went to go find Bankotsu.
Jakotsu sighed and waited for Ginkotsu to get closer before jumping on him and sitting down.
"I didn't know he liked me... What am I, a mind-reader?" Jakotsu looked over at Suikotsu for an answer and noticed he looked annoyed.
"I really don't care much for your love life, but even a blind person could see he liked you. Even back when we were first alive it was pretty obvious." Suikotsu shifted uncomfortably and even Ginkotsu didn't seem interested in talking about it.
Jakotsu stared ahead in a daze and tried to think of all the times Bankotsu ever hit on him. Once he really thought about it; it was obvious.
"Do you think I should talk to him when he gets back...? Or maybe you could!" Jakotsu looked at Suikotsu pleadingly.
"You're never usually shy. So why do I have to do it?" Suikotsu didn't look convinced, but still rolled his eyes and nodded.
"Thank you! Like you said, I'm usually not this shy, but I screwed up really bad this time..."

Bankotsu could feel tears streaming down his cheeks, but did his best to stop crying. He could also hear Renkotsu calling after him.
Bankotsu was so carelessly rampaging his way through the forest that he tripped on a large root sticking out of the ground. His Banryu went flying and landed a few feet ahead of him, but at the time he really didn't care.
Renkotsu finally caught up and knelt down next to him.
"Big brother..."
"Shut up! Leave me alone!" Bankotsu struggled to get his Banryu, but Renkotsu held him tightly.
"Just listen... You know Jakotsu isn't the brightest one in the group, but once he realizes how much you love him; he'll love you back." Renkotsu soothed Bankotsu by rubbing the tip of his braid inbetween his thumb and index finger.
Bankotsu tried to regain his composure, but failed miserably at it. Him still being the youngest of the group didn't help the fact that he was leader and had a reputation he had to try to uphold.
"Ban-"
"Don't call me that! That was... a long time ago." Bankotsu finally made Renkotsu let go so he could go retrieve his Banryu.
"You ready to go back?"
Bankotsu sighed as he finally made himself look as convincing as possible. Nodding, he helped Renkotsu stand up and they started back towards the rest of the group.

Suikotsu had been busy the whole time trying to make sure he understood everything Jakotsu wanted him to say to Bankotsu.
Jakotsu hurriedly finished off his "dialouge" as he called it; when he saw Renkotsu and Bankotsu. Suikotsu forgot most of what Jakotsu had told him to say, but he decided he'd wing it anyway.
Bankotsu and Renkotsu stopped and waited as Ginkotsu (who was carrying the other two) got closer before Renkotsu jumped on and Suikotsu jumped off. Bankotsu decided that he'd keep on walking a little bit ahead of the rest of them, so it gave Suikotsu a better chance of talking to him without being overheard.
"Bankotsu? Jakotsu wanted me to talk to you..." Suikotsu tried to continue, but Bankotsu cut him off.
"Tell him we're in for a lot of fighting, and it's too late now." Bankotsu looked up at the sky which showed signs of twilight nearing.
