I know that I'm ready to leave

I'm leaving Las Vegas tonight to go home. I sort of can't wait. The journey is going to be miserable -- depart at 2145 to arrive Newark at 0500; depart at 0755 to arrive Heathrow at 2000 -- but I've got exit row seating on both legs, and that's as much as I can ask for, short of teleportation.

Honestly, I'm just anxious to return to reality. If you've ever been here, you know this city is like the opposite of. The hotel is nice, although I noticed this morning that the colour scheme of the housekeepers' uniforms perfectly matches the walls so THEY BLEND INTO THE BACKGROUND, and that seems a little creepy. But effective: it had taken me since Monday to realise there were actually people pushing those carts down the hall, and they weren't moving themselves like so many Roombas.

On the other hand, the UK seems to descended into chaos in the past week -- floods, bombs intercepted in central London, a postal strike. Still, there'll be no indoor smoking from Sunday. Assuming we escape the 'international element' responsible for this bombing business, at least we won't all die of emphysema.

london, blahblahblah
