Nothing given, nothing gained

¶ People sometimes give me a hard time because I eat a lot of microwaved meals (Amy's Kitchen, holla atcha boy!). I may be a vegan, but I'm not an otherwise picky eater, and they taste fine to me. Plus, cooking for one just seems like such a waste of effort and resources -- so much ends up going bad, especially with me being on the road all the time. But, whatever, I don't have to justify. Still, now I have an airtight 'excuse': my pots & pans are no longer in my possession. They, along with various clothing items, books, and other household items ('personal effects', as it were), have been picked up to be driven to a warehouse where they will be palletted. After which they will be taken to a port in New York. After which they will be shipped, by boat, across the Atlantic Ocean. After which (and this is a long after which) they will arrive at my new home.

I guess that makes buying a microwave one of my first priorities in England, eh?

¶ On a completely unrelated note, if you've looked at my MySpace any time in the past few weeks (why would you, really?), you'd have seen that there's a Sophie Ellis-Bextor song on there. It's called "If You Go," and apparently it's a Xenomania creation. There aren't too many tunes to which I'll happily listen ten times in a row, but this is one. I love it. Simple as that. Between it, "Catch You" (more brilliant on every listen), and word that Dan Gillespie Feeling has written some of the songs, I have high hopes for this album. Very high, indeed.

moving, music
