- Star Trek - Better than expected; Zarchary Quinto was unnervingly Spockish, just don't think about the plot holes too much.
- Wanted - Silly to the point of ridiculous CGI-driven thriller about a secret society of assassins who are directed by the product of a mystical loom. Oh yeah.
- The Thomas Crown Affair - 70s classic with Steve McQueen playing... well, himself, as usual. Not as good as Bullitt.
- Terminator Salvation - Not bad at all, if you ignore the plot holes; especially when you consider that you know exactly what's going to happen to the main characters. Sam Worthington steals the film in all senses.
- Gone Baby Gone - Very good debut from rookie director Ben Affleck, featuring little brother Casey as a PI caught up in a missing child case. Dark, tragic and difficult to watch. Go see it.
- 21 - Casino caper with Kevin Spacey in full-on Svengali mode. Saturday night film.
- Saving Private Ryan - Everything you heard about this film is true. If you only ever watch 30 minutes of WWII film, make it the first 30 minutes of this film.
- The Black Windmill - Intended to watch a completely different film; wish I had. Mediocre 70's Brit spy flick with the then-ubiquitous Michael Caine.
- Kung Fu Panda - Brilliantly funny, wonderfully detailed, really not just for the kids.
- Chinatown - Jack Nicolson and Faye Dunaway in this classic 70's LA noir. You'll wonder where the Oscar came from.
- Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince - Despite watching this by accident (he thought I wanted to see it, I thought we were there because he wanted to see it...), liked this much more than I was expecting. Darker and funnier than some of the earlier films.
- Inglourious Basterds - Quintessentially Tarantino, takes the conventions of the war genre and fucks them hard. Disquieting and very possibly brilliant.
- The Quiller Memorandum - 70's paranoia spy thriller with George Segall tracking down neo-Nazis in post-war Germany.
- Three Days Of The Condor - More 70s paranoia spy thriller, this time with Robert Redford. Not as good as I was hoping it was going to be.
- The Happening - Ugh, Seriously poor M Night Shyamalan attempt at scare schlock. He really lost his touch, didn't he?
