Title: You're Never Too Busy
Fandom: Glee
Rating: PG-13
Length: 460
Summary: An afternoon studying, or the one in which Quinn learns the third rule.
Poor Quinn. Someday she'll learn, I'm sure of it. I continue to own nothing, except the mistakes. Also, finals are done and I'm officially 5/6 a lawyer! Hooray!
“Hey!”
Quinn felt a sharp poke to her ribs, immediately pulling her out of her book and back onto Rachel’s bed.
“What?”
“Nothing. Just saying hi.”
Quinn smiled indulgently at her girlfriend and resumed reading.

Thirty minutes later, she was interrupted again.
“Hey! Hey! Hey!”
“Oh my god, Rach. What do you want?!”
“Whatchya doing?”
“Reading my Agatha Christie book. What are you doing?”
“Taking a break. Why do I even have to take the stupid SATs? Broadway actresses never need Algebra II. I guarantee it.”
“You’ll take that back when you have to calculate the slope of a falling piece of scenery.”
Rachel snorted.
Quinn closed The Mystery of the Blue Train around her finger and looked at her girlfriend.
“Why aren't you studying?”
“Because I hate studying? Why do you get to read when I have to study?”
“Because you're studying math, and I'm good at math? Quit talking to me. Study. Then later we can have fun.”
Rachel rolled her eyes as Quinn settled back down with her book.

"Hey!"
"Rachel, study."
Rachel rolled on to her back, stretching her arms above her head.
“Wanna make out?”
Quinn didn’t look up from her book.
“No. I want you to study.”
Rachel glared at her.
“It's like you never learn, Quinn.”
"What?"
"When your hot girlfriend says ‘Wanna make out’, the answer is always yes. Not ‘You should study,’ not ‘I’m reading,’ ‘Yes.’ It’s easy.”
“But you should study! And I am reading!”
Rachel sat up, seeking a better angle for glaring.
“Is this another one of those rules?” Quinn asked, realizing for the first time that she might be in trouble.
“You bet it is, champ.” Rachel got off the bed and went to her desk to continue studying.

“Hey, Rachel?” It was two hours later, and Quinn had left Monsieur Poirot and Katherine Grey behind.
“What, Quinn? I’m studying. See?” Rachel held up a half-completed worksheet.
“Wanna make out?”
Rachel turned around, incredulous, and was met by Quinn’s bashful smile.
“I’m sorry for saying no before. I just really want you to do well on your SATs. I don’t want them to close any doors for you, ‘cause you deserve to go to the best school possible.”
Rachel smiled and stood from her seat at the desk. “Ask me again.”
“Wanna make out?”
Rachel pounced, drawing Quinn into a deep kiss.

An hour later, Quinn checked to make sure that Rachel was totally engrossed in her Kaplan SAT math book. Reassured, she reached into her backpack, which was sitting on the floor next to the bed. Opening the notebook to the first blank page, she began to write: “Rule 3: You’re never too busy to make out. Always say yes.”
