Additional notes about OotP

I found myself liking Sirius a lot more after the movie. My interpretation of the book had him just generally very pissy and annoying in book 5, whereas Gary Oldman's version was more... depressed and defeated than whiny and annoying. Felt a brief tugging of "oh god, he's getting into my head now", but I don't think it took. Not the first time, ( Read more... )

Jason Issacs as Lucius Malfoy = sex on legs

I found myself liking Movie!Remus and Sirius better this time around too.

Also, Imelda Staunton was perfectly cast as umbridge, I thought.

I don't find him perfect in the sexy sense, but rather in the "I could not possibly have imagined any actor being closer to perfect for playing this role" sense.

Imelda Staunton is not as fat as I imagined Umbridge to be (toad-like = fatter than that, to me, but whatever), but in the sense that I so totally wanted to reach right through the screen and throttle the life out of her, she was indeed perfect.

I was so torn on the scenes in her office, cause she's so evil... but the kittens are so CUTE! And the MEWING! And the EVIL! No mixing kittens with evil!

those kittens WERE evil man. I love kittens but that was just all kinds of creepy. I actually liked Helena Bonham Carter, I've dug her since I saw Fight Club and she seemed full of crazy

I dunno, kitten mewing just brings out whatever kind of paternal instinct generally lies dormant deep deep down. I just hear it and get all melty and think "Oh! Must hug, must comfort, must feed! What does the kitten need? Help kitten!"

(Well, okay, maybe not exactly that clearly, but along those instinctual lines.)

There's just something about HBC that just rubs me the wrong way. I don't think I could see her in anything and like her. I can't quite put my finger on it.

Yes, I also kept thinking Siegfried whenever I saw Fudge.
I think Hugh Laurie or Stephen Fry should be in an HP movie!

Or BOTH of them! Haven't got a clue who they'd play though.

Omg, they should totally play evil people. Like Hugh Laurie as Fenrir Greyback or something!
