I took care of a whole bunch of things that I should have taken care of a while ago.
I went to the bank and closed out my savings account so I could move it to a higher interest rate account. The money is currently sitting in my checking account while I wait for the technical bugs to be worked out of transferring it... apparently the website is unable to process my request at the moment. Gaa. I'll try again tomorrow, it's not like the money is even cleared to my checking account yet.
I applied for a new job. We'll see where that goes, but the application is in, and that's an important part.
I sent out a bit of mail I'd been meaning to send, and also mailed back the Netflix DVDs that have been sitting around waiting for me to remember to mail them back (I'll never get my money's worth thanks to my memory! Sheesh!), and queued up some new movies.
Even though that's more than I usually get done of things that I should get done in a day off, I still managed, on top of that, to clean one garbage bag's worth of junk out of my room. Woo!
I also went to dance and watched Heroes (Claude is mean, but I like him anyway, and I'm so mad about Claire's biological father. I really didn't want it to turn out that way.) - but those aren't so much accomplishments as 'other stuff I did'.
Although, in a sense, getting to dance every week is an accomplishment. I hate the new girls in my class (they are all so typical of the kind of teen girls I hated in high school, and add to that they chew gum - the bane of my existance!), I hate how they still treat me like a girl despite the effort I made at the beginning of the year to connect with my teacher, and I'm still so behind from missing a month thanks to The Paxil Incident that it's tough to make myself go every week. I enjoy the actual dancing part of it. I do. We're doing more challenging stuff this year, which is good. It's just... all the other stuff I hate. Makes it hard to want to go. Add to that that it was REALLY REALLY AMAZINGLY COLD today (painfully, literally, with the wind chill - it was well below zero when you account for that)... it was hard to make myself get there. But I did.
I only have six working days left until Gallifrey, thanks to time off, and only five of those are consecutive. Countdown has begun.
Also, with any luck, my federal tax refund will show up in my account either before or during the con. That will not hurt. I need every penny I can get, practically. Cause I KNOW I'm gonna spend money in the dealer's room... Specially if they have that 5 for $100 deal on audios again. That's a GOOD deal.
Just six working days. A week and a bit in total time. It's almost here.
And then I have to figure out what I'm gonna do when I get BACK.
