Last night was medical oops, tonight is kitchen oops.
It should be interesting when my mate and I are living together. Dinner is going to be something like "picture of two men looking confused".
Okay, that's not strictly true, I can manage all right, he's really the hopeless one, although I've trained him in the ways of making a few things. However, I have this uncomfortable tendency to burn things.
Tonight wasn't my fault! It really wasn't. I turned on the oven and came back in here (a large living room and a flight of stairs away) to check LJ while it heated up. I went back in when it beeped that it was ready, and thought "Hm, smells a little smoky in here"... and then I opened the oven.
Y HELO THAR GIANT CLOUD OF SMOKE!
So... something was burning its little heart out on the bottom of the oven. Not really my fault, per se, except that I didn't notice till it was thoroughly burninated. The kitchen is currently sporting open windows and much fanning.
This doesn't, of course, change the fact that as I tend to like my meat dishes rather dry, they tend to cause smoke while I am watching them, as a little burning is often a side effect of my cooking. It just wasn't the case tonight. I don't TRY to make it burny. It just happens.
And now onto the non-kitchen related parts of this post:
Can I tell you, by the way, how annoying High School Musical 2 is, working in a music department? THE DVD IS NOT OUT, OKAY?! THE CD IS OUT. NOT THE DVD. IT HASN'T EVEN AIRED. (Or at least, it hadn't when they started asking.)
Thanks go out to
tsahacker for helping me look for places to live!
Update on medical oops from yesterday: It's still bad. It's not quite as bad. It got worse as the day went on, which is not good, but hopefully it's not too much of a healing setback. I now have pain in the joints of my other leg from the involuntary limping. I'm trying not to limp, but I just sort of end up jerking it back mid stride because of the pain. Fortunately not as often today.
Annnd... I just realised this upcoming week would probably be the time to drop my notice and transfer request.
