Happening this week in Kitchener!
(a short I was in, "The Ticket" will be screening Thursday at 7 pm)

We are proud to invite you to Local Focus 2, a film festival dedicated to showcasing local films made by local film-makers. Join us in celebrating the excellent films produced here in our region. Come enjoy, celebrate and vote for your local filmmakers’ work in a variety of selected animations, shorts, documentaries, and feature films. These films were accepted by a jury based on the following: Cinematography- Sound- Editing/Continuity- Story/Script- Performance/ Acting -Believability/Credibility/ Accuracy. The jury will continue judging the films throughout the festival.

Thanks to our funders, we are happy to issue artist fees for all accepted films. In addition, we will present a Jury Award (merit award for best short, documentary and feature as voted on by an elected Jury*), and the Public Choice Award (for best short, documentary and feature as voted on by the audience). Two films, one by Azam Fouk Aladeh and the other by Philip Bast are excluded from the competition for the Jury Award as Azam and Philip are members of the Jury, but these movies can still compete for the Public Choice Award. (*The jury is comprised of the following individuals: Mick Grogan, Terry Barna,David Finla y, Martin de Groot, Brian Scott, Philip Bast and Azam Fouk Aladeh)
