Unfinished - Prologue (Yoshikixhide)

Pain. Sharp and bright like an unstoppable knife, twisting in his heart, over and over again. The blonde musician never thought he could feel this way, but he could never be more wrong.

His eyes were following the movement around him, like some kind of a zombie. He wasn’t listening to anything… the world was stopping in front of him. Just the same way hide’s heart must have stopped last night.

Yoshiki breathed deeply, feeling the tears in his eyes. Why did the other man do that?! Was he punishing him? Punishing him for his mistake? The blonde raised his glass and downed the scotch in one large gulp. The liquid burned his throat, but he couldn’t care less. He raised his hand, the waiter automatically bringing another one for him. He would be ashamed of what he was doing, but that would be in the morning. Tonight, he would drown his pain with mind-numbing alcohol.

The great producer woke up early, as usual, not wasting time and leaving his cozy bed. He padded to the kitchen, ready to eat something with his sacred black coffee. As soon as he entered the place, his maid, an old Japanese woman who was with him since forever, gave him a worried look.

“Good morning Hayashi-san.”

“Good morning Hekami. What’s wrong?” asked the man kindly, going straight to the subject.

“You don’t know yet?”

“Know what?”

The woman bit her bottom lip, a gesture that he knew as a sign of nervousness. He sat in his favorite chair as she poured some coffee for him.

“Tell me Hekami, you’re making worried.”

“It was all over the news this morning. Matusmoto-san… he… died.”

And his world stopped. Just liked that. His widened eyes looked up to stare at the woman. What he saw there was sadness and a lot of pity. For him, that was for sure. He got up, feeling his body tremble like jelly. He steadied himself, gripping the edges of the table.  He closed his eyes, feeling the hot tears slide down his cheeks.

“Hayashi-san…I’m so sorry.”

Yoshiki was well known for always being in control of things. He didn’t succeed all those years for nothing. But that morning, in the presence of a woman, he broke down. Nothing else would ever be the same again.
