“Die, please, just listen to me!” Aoi pleaded, taking a step towards the taller, red-headed man. “No,” Die growled, breathing heavily - he could feel the heat pulsing against his face. “It didn’t mean anything, he kissed me. I didn’t kiss him back, I just -.” SLAP! Aoi sucked in a breath as Die’s sweaty palm made contact with his cheek. Die immediately turned away and Aoi whimpered, shrinking back against the wall. Bringing his hand up to his cheek, tears began to glide down his face. His cheek was throbbing, and it felt as if Die’s hand was still there, pressing firmly against it. “No, Aoi,” Die spat bitterly, clenching his fists. “Never again! Never again am I going to listen to your trite little excuses.” “I can’t believe you just hit me…” Aoi whispered, pressing himself into the wall, wishing that the cheap plaster would just swallow him up. Die, who seemed to be shaking with rage, spun around to face Aoi. “I won’t let you fucking manipulate me anymore,” he yelled, slamming his fist against the wall above Aoi’s head. Aoi shuttered and tried to slip away from the man hovering breathing heavily above him. “Not so fast,” snarled Die, grabbing hold of Aoi’s right arm. Aoi winced and looked up at him, his dark eyes begging him to let go. Die met his gaze, and a split second later, crushed his lips against Aoi’s. Aoi let out a muffled yelp as their teeth ground together. “Shut up,” Die breathed into the kiss, biting down on Aoi’s bottom lip. He felt Aoi’s fists pounding into his stomach, but only released his hold when the sweet flavor of blood began to coat his tongue. After a moment, he tore himself away and gave Aoi once last look. Aoi stared up at him, his lips red and swollen. He opened his mouth to speak, but Die clamped an angry hand down onto his shoulder and peeled him away from the wall. “I don’t ever want to see you again,” he murmured into the shorter man’s ear, shoving him towards the door. “Ever.” Aoi, for the sake of his well-being, did not protest as the hot tears began to spill down his cheeks. “Okay,” was all he could manage as he turned and walked out the door, the cool autumn air nipping at him as he stepped outside of Die’s apartment for the last time.
