The rest of the week seemed to drag on forever. Practices were stiff and uncomfortable between Sakito and me, affecting the whole band’s behavior. Everyone was afraid they’d say something to upset one of us and just kept quiet. Sakito wouldn’t even look, let alone talk to me, unless it had something to do directly with the music. I tried to apologize every chance I got earlier on in the week, but he’d just ignore me and busy himself elsewhere, so I gave up and kept quiet too. I sat at home, wallowing in my own self pity.

I was doing just that with a big blanket and bag of chips in front of the TV Friday afternoon when the buzzer for my apartment started going off. I tried to ignore it but it whoever it was really started pissing me off. It went on for a good 10 minutes before I started cursing and burrowing my head into the couch cushions to block out the noise. I don’t know why I didn’t just answer it and tell whoever it was to leave; it probably would have been more effective. Of course, whoever it was wasn’t going to leave me alone even if I did answer it. So I just burrowed further into the couch.

The buzzer stopped and I sighed in relief.

“Auuugghh….fuck this!” My cell phone started ringing and I reached over to snatch it form the coffee table.

“Fuck off.” I groaned, curling up into a little ball.

“Get up off your ass and stop being a little bitch.”

I flipped the phone closed and glared at the buzzer that started going off again. I have such great friends. I rolled off the couch and took my time opening the downstairs door.

When I got out of the bathroom, my good ole friend Ni~Ya was in my spot on the couch eating my chips and watching TV. I plopped myself on top of him and took the chips while he was busy struggling to breath.

“What do you want anyways?” Chip crumbs flew from my mouth and I moved over to let him sit up.

“Jeez lay off the food fatass.” He gasped, snatching the chips back.

I laughed for the first time in 2 days.

“You need to get over yourself. Go out and do something.”

I stopped laughing and slouched back into the couch complaining under my breath.

“I’m going out with this chick from out of town tonight. She’s got a friend. A hot, blonde, American friend. With a nice rack and no boyfriend.”

“Congratulations.” I mumbled bitterly, not wanting anything to do with anyone but Sakito.

“You’re coming with us. On a double date.” He casually informed me, getting up from the couch and heading to the door, “Be ready at 6. And try to look like you haven’t been rolling around in your own shit.”

The door slammed behind him, and I just sat there staring at it. An idea popped into my head, an idea that could go either in favor of me, or backfire and screw me over for good. But, I might finally have a way to get my Sakito.

I now find myself sitting across from exactly what Ni~Ya promised me, an incredibly hot, big breasted, blonde American girl in her early twenties speaking perfect Japanese. I had to keep myself from drooling. I think her name’s Kim, not that it really matters.

The food arrived and I watched her over my bowl, admiring her neatness. She looked up from her food and caught me staring, a knowing smirk on her face as I tried to cover it up by reaching over for some pepper.

“You have a little something…” She lifted her finger and wiped sauce from the corner of my mouth, bringing her finger to her mouth and sucking on it as I watched wide-eyed. She winked at me then went back to eating, and I tried to do the same. For once, Sakito was nowhere on my mind and it was kind of nice.

I woke up the next morning in an unfamiliar place. I blinked sleep away as artificial light attacked my eyes, rolling over and groaning I looked out the window and noticed I was on the other side of town, last night slowly making its way through my sleep-fogged mind. I sat up and was greeted by the hot blonde from the date wrapped in a towel, water dripping form her hair onto the carpet.

“Oh, sorry I woke you up. I tried to be quiet.” She smiled at me and I returned the gesture. Her nice, round ass peeked out from the bottom of her towel as she bent over and rummaged through a dresser drawer and I smirked. I pulled on the covers a little more when I finally noticed how chilly the room was from the open window, probably getting rid the smell of hot sex. I grinned as I reached onto the floor for my boxers, pulling them on and walking over to the blonde. I wrapped my arms around her from behind and gently kissed her neck with a deep moan.

“Good morning..” My voice was hoarse and it bothered me, but she seemed to like it as she laughed lightly and turned to face me placing a kiss on the tip of my nose. My smile faded a little, I always kiss Sakito on the nose and he’d giggle or nuzzle his head on my shoulder. I sighed and rested my head on her shoulder, trying to get the weird feeling away.

After going home and showering I decided to go into the studio to work on some new stuff now that I was out of my little slump. I was in the middle of mixing something and I felt someone watching me. I turned to the closed door and looked all over the room, not seeing anyone. I shrugged and went back to work. A swift rush of air came behind me, like someone just walked by and I twisted back around and took the earphones off.

I listened for something and my eyes shot all across the room, but there was still no one. Hesitantly, I turned back around and put the earphones back on.

“BOO!”

Someone grabbed by shoulders from behind and I jumped, fell off the chair and onto the ground.

“What the fuck?!” I shouted and got back on my feet ready to kill someone.

“Calm down, it’s just me.” I turned to the direction of the voice and my eyes softened when I saw Sakito standing next to me laughing.

“Asshole…” I grumbled and sat back down, throwing the earphones onto the mixing board.

“So, what are you doing here on a Saturday this early? I can’t believe you’re even awake~” He sat in the chair next to me and crossed his arms.

I sighed and shook my head, turning from his questioning stare.

“Just working on some stuff. Got nothin’ better to do.” I answered, playing around with an unknown switch on the board. For some reason I started getting nervous, like all of a sudden he was talking to me again like he hadn’t been ignoring me the past few days. I didn’t know what to say.

“Mhm…I heard you went out with Ni~Ya last night.” His tone of voice accused me of so much, I really didn’t like it. His presence started to piss me off and I didn’t know why.

“Yeah, so what’s it to you? And how come you’re talking to me all of a sudden? It was just yesterday you were avoiding me like I was some kind of walking STD.” I spat back, turning to him with cold eyes. He shrunk back in his chair a little and looked at me surprised by the outburst before backing down and looking to the ground.

I shifted back towards the mixing board and put my feet up on it huffing. It was quiet for a while, the air was tense and it started to get at me. I got nervous again and glanced over at him. Our eyes met and we both looked away like it hadn’t happened.

“I couldn’t….I couldn’t talk to you, Ruka. I don’t know why, but I just... couldn’t. I’m sorry.” His voice was barely above a whisper and I could see from the corner of my eye that he was staring at me with pleading eyes. Begging me to understand. I sighed and looked over at him just for a second.

“It’s alright, it’s not your fault.”

I looked back his way and met his eyes, his small smile made me blush for some reason and I quickly looked back to the floor.

“So, how was your date?” He changed the subject back to last night and I smirked, still not looking up as I prepared to put my plan into action.

“It was great. Ni~Ya set me up with this really hot, blonde American girl. Her name’s Kim. She’s really sweet, you have to meet her.” I tried to sound excited even though all I could think about was being in bed with him last night instead of her.

“Oh…so, you like her?” I nodded and looked back up at him noticing his disappointment.

“Are you….So, are you ganna go out with her again, I mean…she….?” He couldn’t find the right words, because he didn’t know really what to say. His face contorted a little as he watched my proud grin as I nodded again.

“She’s coming over to my place tonight to watch a movie and I think I’ll make her dinner. I really like her. And…she likes me too. I actually hope this could go somewhere. It sure would get me off your case, hmm?” I laughed a little at the end and patted his knee. He forced a small laugh and got up, grabbing something off of the couch nearby.

“Yeah… well, I just came to get this. Uh, have fun tonight. I’m….I’m glad that….you found someone.” He gave me a small wave and left without even looking back my way. I couldn’t help how terrible I felt when the door quietly swung closed behind him. I can’t quite describe the look on his face, but I hurt him again. And that wasn’t the plan…
