part 27 Shinya gasped out of shock, his mind desperately trying o figure out what was going on here. Yes, he was here looking for Kyo, but he never expected the two of them would meet again in this way, under such horrible condition!
After what seemed like forever, Shinya finally found his voice again as he forced himself to speak, though his voice was barely a whisper. “Kyo…?”
Still the other didn’t reply, he merely stood where he was, with that chilling unreadable expression on his face. Instead of calming him down, the red hair one’s appearance only frightened him more, making him nervous.
“…Why are you here…? “ the auburn head’s hand shivered as he tried to reach his hand toward his cousin, but something stopped him from doing so.
But instead of answering his question, Kyo only turned away from the youth, and without a word he started to walk away turning his direction a little, walking pass Shinya and continued to walk in further into the darkness of the bloodied hell, right into where the countless dead were, hanging above head like broken pieces of dirty toys.
“Kyo!” Shinya cried out in alarm. “What are you doing? Come back here!”
but the other man didn’t stop, he only walked slowly forward into the dark.
“Wait! Where do you think you’re going?” the auburn head took a few step forward, he yelled even louder, trying to get the red head’s attention.
When a reply did come it was something Shinya never expected to hear from his cousin. “Don’t come any closer…”
The voice was somehow unsettled though emotionless. “Shinya…you should leave.”
“No, leave with me!” Shinya shook his head pleaded the older man. than suddenly he felt the ground shaking slightly from somewhere deep below…was it the sign of an earthquake coming!?
“I can’t, I can’t leave with you.” this time Kyo did stop walking away, he shook his head but still refused to look back at the younger one.
“Why? Why can’t you--”
“it’s dangerous for you to stay any longer!” suddenly Kyo’s voice rose up into a piercing hiss, and just as suddenly the red hair man sank into his knees, his hands slowly reached up to grab his own hair in a fistful. “I…I can’t control it any longer. Go!”
but instead of leaving, Shinya only stepped closer, he was dead frightened but at least he needed to get Kyo out of here as well. this thought was the only thing he had to keep the fear at bay. “Please…Kyo…”
“I say no do you hear me!? GO AWAY! I don’t want to kill you yet, Shinya. So don’t force me to!”
the statement was shocking to Shinya, he had never thought Kyo would utter such kind of threat…but he tried a last time. “but…why…what’s the matter?”
“It’s a thirst do you understand? I can’t resist it any longer…You had seen all these dead people already right? Why do you still don’t get it!?”
he didn’t want to do it…but Kyo had hardly any control of the horrible thirst for violence, death and chaos within him, it was something like an instinct which he couldn’t deny, it took all of his will power to maintain his sanity and talked to Shinya like this without losing control already!
it was when the realization first kicked in, it couldn’t be….Kyo couldn’t be possibly meaning that…all of these dead people…could it possible…?
“You aren’t saying that you…you…”
“Yes I did.” This time Kyo’s voice had changed, the pain, anxiety and anger in it was gone, only to be replaced by a dangerous coldness and aloofness. “All of it my handiwork.”
“No! I don’t believe it!” how could Shinya even believe that his cousin would do such thing? All those corpses, all those too many death and madness…
but Shinya’s words were cut short but yet another quake struck, this time it was a much stronger quake and it last longer; the auburn head was almost knocked off his feet, his grab on the flashlight loosened and the flashlight hit the floor and rolled away, leaving Shinya in the dark. At the same time the causing the human-hanging chains to swing from side to side with the quake, the sound of it was like the tinkling melody of thousands of wind chimes; and half-dyed blood was again showering down upon them.
the auburn head lost his vision in the darkness for a seconds as the world seemed to crumble around him, but soon his eyes caught sight of some weak yet eerie crimson light from the ground he was standing…with an instant this ominous red haze of light was everywhere as if the ground was lightened up, seeping from the depth to the surface, slowly growing brighter.
the quake had not yet subsided but Shinya was still struggling to keep his balance, then with much difficulty he leveled his sight up again toward where he last saw Kyo only to find the figure of the smaller man no longer to be found there, in his place there was a massive moving shades, it looked like some kind of living creature but it was some beast that Shinya had never seen or ever imagined before. The form and size of this chaos of shades was constantly changing, quivering; as if it was trying to decide what form it should take. All Shinya could made out in the dark was the flash of shape claws or teeth, swelling fleshes or tissues and long fur of sinister colors.
And red heat fire was streaming from its feet, in a matter of seconds the flame reached upward into a wall of fire, and it was spreading, catching the hanged corpses and engulfed them into flame, the smell of burned human flesh was overwhelming.
Now Shinya had no choice but to back away, he retreated to the entrance of the main hall but before he go the auburn head turned to gaze at the burning inferno behind him for the last time.
The hall was in flame entirely, in the middle of the disaster, he could caught sight of a dark beast stood among the flame but remained untouched, the youth couldn’t make out much of the detail of that beast but he would never forget those eyes that stared back at him, glowing in flame, those blood red eyes…sending waves of dread right into the depth Shinya’s soul.
Go away!
The youth thought his ear had captured these two words before an ugly hiss from the beast piercing the air, this time the hissing noise of the beast’s language was nothing like a human’s at all.
Everything after that was a blur of confusion, he couldn’t remember how exactly had he escaped out of the club, and it took Shinya a long time to know that he was the last person to leave the nightclub Hell’s Kitchen alive that night beside those musicians he’d met earlier in the evening, the mysterious fire had burned the whole three stores building into the ground with hundreds of people trapped within it, many of the victims’ body were simply never found, burned into ashes.
